Thread: Testing of damage vs creatures using 3 f narglatchs vs 1 cl70 pet

I did some testing today while grinding my paddy. I was going after CL 61 Bantha, using a CL50 Great Plains Stalker (damage 200-510) it averaged a hit for 240pts of damage each attack. Then I pulled the 3 ladies out, going after same bantha CL61, they each did 130pts of damage each, for a total of 390pts of damage vs the 240pts of damage the GPS was doing. I also pulled a CL70 Baz Snitch (200-390) damage and it averaged a 170pts of damage.

So in my book the 3 beasts combined did more damage than the single higher level pet.

This was against CL61 creatures so maybe at the CL80 level it would be different. I have a long grind before I hit the CL80 so I wont be able to finish the data until later

Sticky - Lowca

btw - I did a befriend to the paddy and kept Sticky out of the way as didnt want to give visibility. It helps a bit on the grind. But if you dont want on the terms this is what you do. Otherwise, whack whack whack, and -120k xp down the drain...had enough of that...

I was getting similar results earlier. First I was using my 3 narglatches, and then switched over to a lvl 69 gaping spider hunter.

The GSH took much longer to kill the lvl 80 stuff I was fighting, but it seemed to be able to soak up more damage. So the longer fights didn't put it in danger. Plus it seemed toregenerate its health much faster, so there was less down time between battles.

On the other hand, the longer fight times really added up. It made me feel really slow with how long it was taking to finish one mission.

i tested my 3 fem naglatches against a CL80 dewie (i was grouped to give them CL80 - otherwise it would have been a short fight). they were doing fine doing around 110 damage each per round. i m pistoleer - so with warning shot i increased it do 125 (reducing defenses by 80 results in a 10% damage increase). the girls were doing a nice job and its fun to use them.

but in general i prefer 1 higher level pet (gaping spider hunter or a choku), as it does more single damage - not as much as all 3 naglatches in total - but enough to do the tanking and keep the agro long enough for me to finish the target off.

Do you Veteran CH use BE pets or prefer wild tamed pets?

I know about the lvl 22 narglatches that can be used in triplet format and they seem cool enough, but can BE's make a decent enough lvl say 50+ pet ?

How good could a single narglatch combine with a lvl 48 pet?

RIght now, the 3 narglatch team is pretty much the best in the game. I don't know of any BE combo that can compare to it.

Although my girls are a handful. They like to run off and kill things on their own when my back is turned. And once they've tasted blood, they don't listen too well until I make them take a nap (store them).

I've posted some stats on this when comparing the 3 narglatches to 1 BE CL65. In summary tho, since I don't feel like posting all the stats all over again (it's in the BE forum), the high end BE pets outdamage 2 narglatches easily. Some high damage pets that aren't full grown yet (max 485 or so) might be able to outdamage all 3 combined. I've used 3 narglatches and I've used my CL65 BE pet....the narglatches couldn't hold aggro worth crap for me. The BE pet tho did just fine. The CL65 had a bit more armor, so it lasted longer than that 1 narglatch gettin pounded on (if you can actually manage to have it hold aggro). Since I can apply more damage without drawing aggro, I can do a total DPS (me + pets) higher with the CL65 than with 3 narglatches. For example, say the narlatch does 130x3 = 390 and my 65 does 140x2 (x2 for speed) = 280. I can add up to 280 DPS and not get aggro, wherease I can only do about 130 add with narglatches. Totals are then at 520 DPS v 560 DPS. 140 is actually low end in case any argue, I can get more like 160x2 with BE pet. I use the CL65 just about every time. It just plain works better imho. Anyone using 3 narglatches hasn't used high end (post publish) BE pets. The speed factor is only on in the new pets.

Actually I think I can get a DPS in a CL48 BE pet that still outdoes 2 narglatches. So best combo for damage for me might be BE CL48, narglatch, probot.

I'd love to get some high-end BE pets to test this out... the problem is finding a good BE on my server who actually makes pets. I can find the /respec BE's just fine, but their pets are average at best.

3 pets, 1 Bomb droid or combat droid, and 1 faction pet. Perks of being MCH. Nothing like a little mini-army to make some fun!

So, what people are saying throughout this thread is that CH is working exactly as it should be.

3 Level 23 pets (CL69) outdamage one CL 50 pet - check.

3 Level 23 pets (CL69) outdamage one CL69 pet - check.

The CL69 pet can outlast the 3 CL 23 pets - check.

So if you want more offense, you pull multiples. If you want more of a defensive, tanking posture, you pull one big one.

Makes perfect sense.
