Thread: When does CH get good?

Is this a trick question? Are you a master in a Combat Profession? Are you in CH just for the damage a pet can do? Have you read the CH forums at all since December?
Back in the day before the December Patch I think we had some nice pets. After the patch things happened. Some say bad things, some say good things, and some have no idea what happend. I may be the exception to the rule but has a TKM my pets are basiclly for crowd control, a distraction for the bad people/critters until I get around to killing em. Don't get me wrong, I love my pets (has much has one can love pixels and data) but I can out damage em any day of the week and I spend more time helping them then they do helping me. Will, they do help out when going after them mean ol spiders Mrs. Webmaster and Mr. Warrior. But usually I just bring em out to group to get a higher payout on the terminal.
If your getting into CH for the damage pets can do you are getting in for the wrong reason.
Actully I just got bored of my other proffs and decided to open my only holo just to see what I got. It said MCH, now I am not a holo grinder but it seemed like it might be more fun and interesting than what I was doing (master arty, scout, pistol,) and I can't handle crafting anymore, I do a lot of soloing so I thought it wolud be nice to have a little buudy around to help me out a bit. But right now all I have a is a Kaddu (mount) and a poopy gurrcat, and just wanted to know when I can expect some results.
PS which box should I take first?

Critters don't deal damage; they absorb damage. They are meatshields.
With Apprentice Gunman and an FWG (or a tangle, for that matter) I do more damage than my pets.
The critters are there to hold aggro while I hit for damage.
I'd go for Training I first, since you get more stored pets. If you want some of the aggro beasties, go for the first two Taming boxes. It used to be concentrate on the Management line to get two pets out, but now that the second pet no longer gathers full XP, it's not nearly as critical.
