Thread: Mounts: Making value

I've seen a lot about mounts being fairly useless but no real solutions for giving them value. So here's my idea.

Before First: fix them to follow
First: make gallop a toggle rather than burstrun.
Second: any mount is can be used by a non-CH, however during transfer loses training in Attack or Guard. The mount will only fight in self defence, not the defence of its master.
Third: a CH may retrain attack and guard at their leisure.
Fourth: when ridden in combat, by any type of character, the mount will also attack the rider's target if it is in range. Too, specials may be used.

That's my idea. It provides a way of expanding the market, removing the problems of giving high CL creatures to players, and gives mounts value to melee players in the form of a boost to their combat ability.

The main value for mounts is in hunting expeditions and in getting around big populated cities.

I have found that trying to pilot a speeder through, say, Coronet is an exercise in futility.

Why are they better than speeders in hunting?

Hunting better with mounts: Speeders are to fast for Creatures spawning in front of you.
