False.

Just run away til the baby stops aggroing you, come back to the baby, try again.

Do it all the time with NASTY critters in packs.

here another u cn run wait for it to stop atking then walk up about 60m from the baby use mask scent and prone all the way to the baby and start taming it takes awhile but it get u there with out atks.

but the wierd thing is....it wont let me tame anything at all now, in the beginning i thougth it was because the creatures i tried to tame was too high lvl, but when it woudnt let me tame a womp-rat-baby. thats where i began to wonder......am I buggeD?

No you're not bugged, well not officially i guess. Do you have an auto attack selected? If so remove it and try taming again. I had this issue too and as soon as i removed the auto attack i could tame pretty much anything i wanted (within the right levels of course)
