Not supposed to but it will.
When you have it or any of the new mounts you will be over your limit.
Wven though you will be able to call all pets normally the first time you trade one away for any reason you wont be able to take it or another pet back. The too many pets message pops up.
I had 20 + the bolotaur and vac mount and and ch lvl 65 vac. When i attempted to tame the rancor youth i came across alter i gothe message. Had to delete pets down to 21 to pick up the youth.
BTW the youth for its lvl isnt too shabby.

It's a creature like any other, so yes, techincally it will count against you.
However, I've noticed that it will tame, along with any of the other ROTW pets (Kashyyyk bantha, bolotaur, CH-only Varactyl) and place into your datapad regardless of how many pets you already have. I'm sure it's a bug, but it happens.
Another drawback is if you want to tame something new from the wild you have to delete your datapad back down to under 22 pets. So... it's not very valuable to think they're free creatures in the long run.

Thanks for the feedback guys.....and it is kinda misleading by them saying it is free. It really should not count against your datapad ![]()
Oh well at least I know now before I make some wrong decision.
Again, Thanks

I've read somewhere that it's not supposed to count. Of course I can't find that thread any more, but I saw it I swear :-)

Kinda misleading?
It's downright fraudulent, typical of the incompetence of the developers of SWG.
