Hey all,

I just had some friendly duels with a fellow bounty hunter and my CL 63 BE pet did great in ripping him up at first. However, the next time he rooted my pet and I couldn't get my pet to ever attack again. I'm not certain if the root just lasted a long time and so I was incapped by the time the root wore off or if there was a bug preventing my pet from attacking even once the root wore off. I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this?

FYI, my solution for this in the future will be to have this particular pet use his ranged attack. Does anyone know if my pet will use the ranged attack if I order him to attack with it after he's been rooted? I'm not sure what to do with pets without ranged attack if they get rooted. My guess is not use them in PvP combat.

Try using the ranged attack command.

Aye.. this was one quick reason I decided to boot my CH skills and pets. When I hunt critters that do not have a ranged attack, they get Rooted and then they get killed. I can hold off a Grand Kanyon Krayt indefinietly.

Actually I have noticed the range attacks work relatively well now.

The problem is roots are probabally a little too effective. There is a difference between an effective delaying action, and an unstoppable pin. I personally think the roots are going to get cut back a bit.
