i think the following is a good statement on the special edition version....:
Customers who bought this DVD also bought:
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Two-Disc Special Edition) DVD ~ Jack Nicholson

gah, I want a version without all the cg added. the only one not ruined by the "special added scenes" was empire strikes back.

Unfortunately, Lucas has said that only the Special Editions will make it to DVD. Which means I'm still going to cling to my set of the Original OT on VHS and convert those over someday.
But the real question is - buy the OT now...or wait until after Episode III is ready for DVD and get the inevitable 12-disc set for $299.99 ![]()

I've had a set of OT dvds for a while, not a bad quality on them but they are not the official set that is coming. I think these were remastered from the special edition vhs tapes. The quality is okay, but i think the august release ones will be much better in that department. I expect that when EP III is out that there will be a collectors set released that has all of them. Now if they would only digitally remove jar jar from them.....

I would hope that the DVD menu has a "Greedo Shoots First: ON/OFF" menu. That sucked. Still sucks. Makes me angry just thinking about it. Grrrr...
I wouldn't mind being able to see the matte lines around the ships if we could turn that off.
OOH! OOH! And the musical number from RotJ! Turn that off too!
Mattle lines for two things! No Greedo first, no new RotJ number and no Han and Jabba scene in a New Hope.
Three things! Matte lines for three things! No Greedo first, no new RotJ number, no Han and Jabba scene in a New Hope, and no ...
Well, I'll stop there.
