Thread: Are CH Specials ever going to get fixed?

I am a bit confused why some of the BE pets specials are working, but our wild pets specials are not. I would think the code to get this to work would not be all that different from the BE pet code. Also, whats up with some of the specials like disease and knockdown not working on command? Has anyone seen any dev respond to this problem? I think CH would be alot cooler if we could use all of these specials, isn't that why they were put in?

Actually, the specials do work on wild pets as well as BE pets. Its just that you can't make em do it on command. If you think it sometimes works, its just coincidence. Right now only the pets decide when to throw the specials. The pet knockdown never has worked yet. This has already been a pretty long rant in the forums. There's nothing we can do but wait. you don't have to be patient, but we do have to wait.

That's not the case (or at least that's totally different than my experience). I can get my pets to Intimidate, Stun, Blind, Dizzy, or Posture Down on command every time. The DOT attacks like Poison and Disease still seem a little unreliable, but I've been using targeted specials en masse lately.

Agree w/Vert - haven't had probs with specials except maybe poison (haven't got a pet that does disease), butI always kill the creature before poison has any real effect anyway. Well, not sure about Knock Down and Crippling Strike -they don'tseem to have icons like the other attacks, so notcompletely sure if they work consistently. But certainly the others have been working like a charm. Now when I use 2 pets I look to see if they have different attacks. It's great when you can hit a creature with 3 or 4 different specials.

I've been trying to figure this out lately, and I've noticed that my pets will use all specials on command except DOTs as well. NOT ONCE have any of my pets used their poison or disease attacks on command. However they do use those specials on their own. For example, I can't remember a single fight (except for very quick 2 or 3 second fights) where my gaping recluse didn't use either strong poison or poison spray on the opponent(s).

Poison Spray will work on command. I use it all the time with my recluses.

Now the creature will not always be poisoned, but watch for a -1 damage floating above the target's head, or if your spider is near several opponents, the combat spam shows the spider attacking multiple things at once. (Misses will not poison the targets, but you can see the attack is attemped if a group is nearby.)

Plague Strike behaves similarly.

Here are some things I have observed:

-Knockdown attempts work on command, every time, but only against NPCs.I don't know if this is intended or not. My pets will never, ever knockdown a creature.

-Disease and poison will attempt every time I try it, but it doesn't stick very often.

-Dizzy seems to stick better on NPCs than on creatures.

-Intimidate/stun works wonderful on both NPCs and creatures.

I would like to know if it is intended that creatures can not be knocked down by my pets. I know from TKA that the knockdown/dizzy combo only works on NPCs, but I can still knock creatures down, they just don't fall back over when they are dizzy. It seems like my creatures should have this ability too.
