Hey, I JUST made novice creature handler!

I've been dabbling in SWG for a long while now, and while I was originally attracted to the creature handler profession, I shyed away from it at the time (that was durning the CH and Pistoleer craze that happened a while ago). Anyways, I tend to play things that not a lot of other players go for at times (call me nuts). But anyways. I've tamed a few baby's...but so far, I can't sem to teach them to do anything. Ever time I try the "train" comand I just get a "?" over and over again. Is that because the creature is to to young, or my skill level is to low, or do I just plain suck...OR is it a combination of all three? lol. Anyways, just wondering what steps (if any) I have to take to teach these little suckers some basic commands. I tried to find some in game CH's to ask...but you guys are rare birds these days. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

When you select the train command you need to give it a command that you want to train it... For example select train -> store and then type "store" in spatial and it will either say the creature learned a new command or not. If it doesn't learn it you should just repeat yourself until it gets a little "!" over its head and it will tell you that "You teach your pet a new command." You can also train it using /tellpet if you are familiar with that, but the commands need to be 3 letters or longer with that due to a current bug. Good luck!

Well, that would answer my question, I'll have to go and try that out. Thank you very much!

One thing that I learn was that sometimes your creature will not understand you while you are teaching it something. But the max times it will happen is 4 times. The 4th time, no matter what, it will learn.

4 fails for teaching the command is the max indeed. But for some reason bio pets seem to learn on the first teach every time.

Present- Master Rifleman, Bounty Hunter and Marksman (Jedi kills so far- 1)
Future- Creature Handler again probably, was fun but useless.

Since the JTL downloads, I've noticed wild creatures have gotten dumber. I used to average 2 or 3 times before they learned, now it seems like I'm hitting the 4th try almost every time.

Yes. Thou I think it's only +15 for taming. Can't seem to find anyone that could do +25 in paramilitary camos.

Do you have bio clothes? That will help the training go a bit quicker, as that mod affects how quickly they learn (i think).
