Thread: Question How do I choose which food to feed pet?

Hello. If I have pet treats and personal buff foods on me, is there a way to specify which one to feed my pet?

If there is not, how does it choose what food to use?

How can I manage my inventory so I feed it the kind I want? (not the expensive canapes and brandy)

Thank you for bearing with my newbie CH questions.

Im pretty sure foods which buff pets need to be dragged and dropped onto the pet, and as i recall it will eat the first thing in your inventory from right to left and top to bottom.

I keep all my buff food in my pack and my pet food in my main inventory. The pet won't eat food from your pac but will eat anything from your main inventory. I found this out when I accidently fed my Grand Wrix a muon gold lol. So all ya gotta do is keep your good stuff in a pac and you should do fine.

Yes, pet buffs have to be dragged and dropped on to your pet. (BTW, Dragging/dropping pet food doesn't work - at least not for me). Unfortunately, the only way to manage your inventory is to keep all of your foods in your backpack and only bring them out as needed. Very huge pain in the keester. When you "feed" your pet, it will eat just whatever is first in line. Including pet buffs and then they don't work. And, I'm not entirely sure what is considered "first in line". I once had pet food that I thought would have been thefirst thing but when I fed my pet, it ate one of my buffs. So until that gets fixed, I just let my pets go hungry (kidding!nobody send me angry e-mails! )

lol, pets wont eat muon gold. They wont eat brandy, canape, or any other people food to my knowledge. I keep those items in my backpack all the time. Pet treats are certainly eaten, but I am pretty sure they will eat bff foods out of your pack so do be careful with those because they wont get any buff benefit unless you click and drag.

From my experience, pets will eat any kind of food, but they will not take any kind of drink. I keep all my food in backpack, and just forage up something for my pets if they get hungry.

Pets won't touch drinks. So that expensive BE vasarian brandy is safe.

If you leave ANY edible food item in your main inventory, to include spice, the pet will eat it if it can. The "feed" option off the radial menu will grab the FIRST (top to bottom, left to right) food item in the inventory and feed it to your hungry pet. If you don't have any food in your inventory this way (but may have it in a satchelto keep it away from the critters) you'll get the "you have no food to give!" message.

Pet buff foods will be consumed this same way if you're not careful, and won't do their buff thing. Pet buff foods must be dragged and dropped onto the pet, which will respond with (Fido) yummy!, to get the buff effect on the pet.

I've got a special "combat buff" satchel in my main inventory, where I keep my synthsteak, burnout sauce, veghash and blap biscuits (for the pets!) for immediate consumption. The only food I leave alone in the main inventory is bofa treats, specifically purchased to serve as pet food. The really good stuff and crated combat state foods are in a satchel in my backpack, things like vagnerian canapes and the brandy, My muon stash is stored in a droid, where those Stormtroopers can't find it.
