Just wow...

All my searching finally paid off two hours ago and I'm still a bundle of nerves. I had seen my first malignant squill a few months back and didn't know if they had babies or not. A night ago, while I was running around Tatooine, I saw one for the second time. I had my two mountain squills with me, so I sent them to fight the malignant with me healing them. They kill it and we wait. Another adult. I was tempted to milk that spawn, but there were Tuskens nearby so I had no choice but to move on...

Earlier tonight, I logged back on to Galaxies due to being unable to sleep and being plagued by dreams of taming a baby malignant.

I was going to make my dream come true or die trying.

I went back to Tatooine and decided to run to a waypoint a good friend of mine gave me back when I first began playing Galaxies. I called my two mountain squills and we set off running through the desert dodging Tuskens and taking opportunities on lower level creatures for me to level my polearm.

So, my squills and I come across a small spawn of mountain dewbacks with a small group of Jabba's men to the east and a red blip with a yellow con circle shows up on my radar right to the west of the dewbacks. I examine it and BINGO. Malignant squill adult! I ready my pet stims and send my two mountain squills to the attack and stand there healing them when all the sudden a scyk comes from a small spawn to the west of the malignant squill and begins attacking me. I pull out my long vibro axe and proceed to cut him up till he flees...and calls his two lackeys. >_< All the while my two mountains and the malignant are still battling it out, and one of my mounains is halfway down on his health bar.

After killing the stupid scyks, I hurry and heal my squill despite that I'm nearly dead myself and they finish off the malignant. I hurry and disband the group, store my diseased squill then call him back out, all the while as I rest. Right as I'm grouping my squills, another adult malignant squill spawns close to us and makes a beeline for me. I'm thinking @#^#$^* as it incaps me, but my mountain squills pull it off of me before it can finish me off. All I can do is wait for the timer and watch my squills fight as I open my inventory and ready my pet stims. I remask my scent after I get back up and proceed to heal my squills until they finish off this second malignant. Luckily, neither one was diseased this time so we go and rest away from the body and near the dewbacks.

A third adult malignant spawns. And when my squills and I are fully rested, I send them to the attack. This time, my OTHER squill gets diseased. >_< I proceed to heal my squills as they battle and finish off the third malignant, all the while keeping a lookout for when those stupid scyks spawn. I move away from the body, store my diseased squill and call her back out, group them, and a yellow blip with a green con circle appears to the west on my radar. I'm thinking it's probably another baby dewback, but I check it anyway...

BABY MALIGNANT SQUILL! I just couldn't believe my eyes! Right there, sitting on the sand grooming itself was one of the most near impossible babies to find.

My heart begins pounding in my ears as I tell my two mountain squills to stay and I mask my scent before making my way over to the baby and hitting /tame. Failed aggro. @#$^$%*#^! I run away, hitting peace until the baby calms down. I remask my scent and go back for try number two. Failed. Try number three is a second aggro. >_< As I'm spamming peace and running, one of Jabba's damn thugs decides to chase me around as well, but gives up the chase when I run the baby through the dewbacks. It seemed like an hour before the baby finally decides to calm down and start walking TOWARD the newly spawned scyks!

ARGH!!!!!

By this time, I'm twitching worse than a durni's nose as I remask my scent once again, take a deep breath before I follow the baby and hit /tame. All the while, I'm waiting for the scyks to come and tear us both to shreds when I see the sentence I've been hoping and waiting for...

You tame the creature.

I almost fainted and my heart was pounding in my ears. I'm sitting there, staring at the screen and I give the baby malignant a hug before storing it in my datapad, I then store my two mountain squills and proceed to hop on my swoop and jet to nearby Bestine where I hop aboard the shuttle and return to good ol' Coronet where I find a nice quiet place in the city where I proceed to train the baby in all of its commands. While doing so, I named the baby Mirage because up till tonight, that's what I had thought of them. A mirage in the endless deserts of Tatooine.

After months of endless searching after seeing my very first malignant, in the third spawn I've seen ever, I finally got my baby. The third time really is the charm.

*facepalms* The way to edit the message was right there in front of my face the whole time. x_x Even though I have the pic posted furthur down in a reply to this post, I'm posting it here for all those who wish to view it.

Very, very good hunting ground even if malignants may not spawn there. And here's the coordinates where I got Mirage. They're a little way off the path of the first coordinates though. -774 22 (baby spawn)

I have to note that malignant squills are CL 50 and aggressive.

Congrats! What'd you name 'im? And I hope your taming experience didn't send you through hell and back like mine did. ^_^; I'd love to hear about it!
