Does the tracking tree of Ranger help with finding rares, or is it more of a find meat for monkey type skill? I did a search and didn't really find the info I was looking for. Thanks!!!!

Yes, tracking can be useful in finding rare pets. You could argue if it is worth the skill points or not. I was Master Ranger with MCH but dropped it. It was just as easy to drive to the lairs to see what they were. I got tired of the dismount, track, wait for graphic to complete and get result. In that time frame, I could get to the lair itself on a swoop.

I've got some Ranger skills with my CH stuff (new to CH, ex-BH/Ranger). The tracking definately helps. Not to mention, sometimes things will start to stalk you out of nowhere, and you get a great system message.
When I get a system message, while speeding along, that says "it seems you are being stalked by a mottled wrix." I usually turn around to see if there are any wrix babies.

i've always liked ranger tracking...
if you are looking for a change of pace, hire yourself out as a tracker... you can make good money looking for things such as krayts, witches, and those looking for the hero of tat things... just pick a fair price, and make sure that the clause isn't in there that you only get paid if you find something...

Yeah, Ranger tracking is great. Most of the pets I have now were found with Ranger tracking. Andmaybe halfof those were not connected to a lair but were roaming "free", i.e. my rhoa kwi pack leader and rhoa guardian, gaping spider recluse, and blurggto name some.

I know ranger tracking would have been handy for trying to find that enraged reptilian flier that took off like a bat out of hell while trying to tame it.
I found him again by blind luck but i'd rather KNOW where he flew to rather than guess

survival exp is easy... just call and store every pet in your datapad while in camp, craft a few tents in practice mode... the disband camp and drop a new one... you'll have to play around with the times for leavein the tents up for max exp in the shortest amount of time...

Tracking is great if you're a CH or if your primary source of income is derived through hunting. The added harvest bonus will mean millions in the end. Plus with Tracking III you can still see distance and direction up to 500m, just not player controlled toons.

I love tracking, it's very useful, atleast for me with my BE/CH combo.
It allows me to track both adults for DNA and babie for possible taming.
