I've got CH (on Bloodfin and Lowca) because it looks really fun.

Now that I've got novice CH, I have no idea what I'm doing. On bloodfin, I tamed a Wrix, and on Lowca, I have a Murra (because I couldn't find a Wrix).

I try to fight with them, but they have like 100 HAM, and they get butchered instantly...

So, any advice on how to level up in CH? I'm completely lost.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, to start with you could use some basic marksman skills and a weapon - probably pistol would be your best bet.

Next, send your pet or pets to attack something of around the same challenge level and you know you can handle fairly easily. Your pet only needs to hit the target once to get the xpso when it has done that open fire with your blaster and finish off the target yourself.

As you build in confidence and get better pets go for bigger and badder targets - keep in mind though that the bigger the difference in challenge level between what your pet and their target the higher or lower the xp reward will be. Therefore if you set a CL10 pet against a CL20 target you will get much more xp than if the target were CL10. If the target is CL5 you get a lot less or even no xp at all if the difference is particularly large.

This is how I got started.

Once I had a number of commands I could teach to pets (think I was at 2222 roughly) I pretty much mastered by taming every baby I could find, trainingthem all the commands I knew and then released them. It was pretty dull overall, but I found some nice pets that way that I still use to this day - it was surprisingly quick too considering the xp it takes to master.

From the sound of it though, everyone else took a different route...

Master an Elite combat profession, get doctor and entertainer buffed to high heaven, buy the best weapon you can find for your class, by 80% kinetic resist composite full suit and go take enraged rancor missions on Dathomir. This way is quicker I should imagine, and after the initial outlay for your weapons and armour you should be able to make a tidy profit from the mission payouts.

Just make sure you have a ton of pet stims to keep your pets healthy

Personally I still cannot afford a set of decent composite so I had to do it the slow way

Best of luck anyway, it's a fun profession if you don't think about the grind and don't want to be uber.

after a few days your wrix baby will grow up and be a nice nastly little sidekick.

as for gaining skill,

you can either hunt with him, but as he grows your xp per combat will drop.

or you can taim and train each and every baby you can find. (a baby durni or a baby rancor gives almost the same xp per skill taught (between 100-150))

so when your master you can teach 19 skills max per pet.

I say go 0,0,1,0 then 0,0,1,3 that way you can have 2 pets out at once for combat or you can have your main pet and taim a baby without having to store.

When i was master I usually ran with 2 Grand Wrix (25) and 1 Mottled Wrix (18). some nice damage speed in all that mess. and as a bonus, wrix's are almost as fast as speeders so dont have to store them while traveling.
