I soloed a purple con lair Monday without breaking a sweat. I'm a CL64 and teamed with my CL70 Razorcat, Anubis we took out the CL74 lair with ease. NobleAnubis took a lot of damage but I was untouched. *Hugs Anubis*
According to the devs, purple conshould have been certain death. All it takes is to stop whining about the CU and usesome intellegent fighting.
You just have to pay attention to how much damage your pet is doing and stay below that threshold. As an added bonus, if your pet gets near death, you can hit with some high damage and finish tanking for him. If you have other group members, they just have to stay below the pet's damage as well.
The tanking rules for pets are no different than they are for player tanks and the formula is simple:
Damage = Aggro

Nice going
- Whilst its' true about the damage Tanks ( of all types ) NEED to generat additional hate. It's pointless asking the nukers to down damage themselves (although controlling the DPS to an extent is ok ) tanks SHOULD generate hate above their Damage so if you let the tanks take a nibble for a few seconds it's difficult for the DPS guys to peal the mob off. It's not terrible at the moment but does still need some tweaking. Must try it myself, I've done CL64 solo with a pair of pets, CL18 and CL39 ( well 3 but the 3rd was just a baby CL3).

As a lvl 49 Master Dancer/3,4,3,3, CH with pistol and ranged support in marksman was able to take out lvl 50-57 with my 2 cats (GSP & CRC) as long as I let the pets tank and didnt out damage them ( lol like i could).
