So they've dropped in level...

Would you say that they've dropped in effectiveness (If you've done any testing with it)?

I was hoping they'd spruce this species up a bit... they're not "Rare", but they're uncommon enough to be a bit more special, in my opinion.

I loved the days when they had light armor and higher resistances...

Then they raised their level, removed their armor and lessened their resistances.

Thanks for the info... I wasn't aware that natural pets auto-converted... I've been hiding me head in the sand.

May the force be with you.

I truly wish I had something good to report. My grand wrix is what I consider my first "real" pet - i.e. a pet that I didn't tame just for the xp. I've had it longer than any other pet by far. I was rather saddened to see that it's level dropped to 22.

As far as the effectiveness of any pet, imhoit depends on the level of the mob you're fighting. What I've found is that if your pet is fighting a mob more than 3 or so levels higher than the pet, then it's not very effective. The greater the difference in levels the quicker the pet dies and the fewer points of damage it can do.

So, yourgrand wrixwill be effective against that CL 22 and lower range, but I wouldn't send it against a CL 79 youth rancor. Even grouping 3 pets totaling CL 70 hasn't made any difference for me. Pre-CU, I often combined myGW with my toxic merek battlelord, especially versus NPCs. It was a pretty tough combo. Not any more I'm afraid.

I was rather saddened when my GW dropped to CL 22. I was even more saddened to find that it isnow of little practical use.

They just don't seem to understand how majestic the Grand Wrix should be!!

Yes, and about grouping them... unfortunately our Pets don't get the adjusted levels of the group... as far as others have come to determine.

I'm relying on everyone else right now, because I had to take a break before I go trying to learn a whole new game with the characters I've come so attached to.

I must unlearn what I have learned.

Thanks for the info!
Wish it was better.

I haven't logged in since the CU went live.

I'm on a bit of a holiday...

I'd really appreciate any information other CH's have on the Grand Wrix.

I've been playing since Launch and my very first pet was the Grand Wrix (Back then, we could tame it at novice CH).

He grew to become my constant sidekick, through all the nerfs, bugs and changes...

I'd like to know what the Grand Wrix is like post CU...

And what the conversion process is like for the Grand Wrix from those of you that have one and have converted it.

Thank you very much for any information you can give!!

May the force be with you.

it will convert automaticly if it was wild, and a grand wrix is..i believe they have dropped to lvl22 and probably have about just over 3k health (swgcreatures says 3087)..to put that in perspective it seems the max wild level of health is around 6300

Learning the new combat upgrade is quite fun. At first glance it's simplisting and dumbed down. There's a reason for this... so that strategy and tactics can take over.

Unfortunately for the collectors, Grand Wrix are common now. As are most creatures. You can pick up babies everywhere. I was especially surprised at the populations on Dantooine. It looks like the devs may have overcompensated with the spawn count, but I think it's great because they look like large herds.
