Does anyone have a char thats master CH and TKM? Would these be a good combo?

I was a MCH and MTKA for about a month, then I went Rifleman, now Swordsman
Yes TKA goes good with MCH, as does Rifleman.

IMO,tkm really doesn't complement CH because you're basically running up to the enemyin the front linesof the battle, along withyour pet....and you'll be dishing out more damage then your pet could ever dish out at the same time....i don't see the point of having a pet when you can tank "better" than your pet.

I think ranged weapons complement CH a lot better by sending your pets in first, and wearing them down with your ranged specials, staying mostly unharmed.

Perfect combo. Especially in the nerfed state of pets right now.

Pets can inflict the DOTs and state effects that TKM don't have and TKM dishes out the damage.

The pets don't need to do a lot of damage, just get the specials in. Write a couple macros for pet specials and go for it. Most things you fight don't really know how to react to getting hit from 4 different directions and even if they do single in on you or one of your pets, getting hit with up to 6state effectsplus your own specials will make short work of most opponents.

If you really want to mix it up get pets with ranged attacks and that confuses enemies even more because they like to aggro the ranged but you and your other pets are still killing them.

In PVP they can either focus on you or your pets. Either one will be right on them

I am currently MCH MTKA. I only do PVE.

Most of the time when buffed there is little point of using the pets to be honest because of the delays involved in calling them. However when unbuffed or fighting high level enemies theyare very helpfullas a crowd control system. This is epescially true offighting NPC's with blaster/rifle attacks - you can tieup two or three of the incomingshot streams as you continue around picking them off one by one, cats are good for this as they cover the ground so fast.

I also found pets very usefull as my safety net in TKA training

You could let yourself tank as a TKA, but why would you? Having a light armoured pet with 10K HAM tank lasts so much longer, and you can perform all the specials you like. Swordsmen and Pikemen have this problem a lot more of course, but with the speed of TKA, 100 HAM ticking away every second is something you don't want if you're also taking damage.

Oh, and what 'specials that TKA doesn't have'? You HAVE every effect in the book as a TKA except for poison, which is only obtainable through looted weapons anyway. The specials from a pet in combination with TKA are mostly so you don't have to spare the HAM to do em yourself.

Pikeman for example doesn't have dizzy or blind, so a pet with those two specials is a good complement to the profession.

I did CH and TKA in the first month or so, as long as you make sure you're slightly further from the enemy than your pet is, you'll take no damage except for area combos.

Yes, Wookiee to boot. They were my first two master and have been since.

Bleed, poison, disease, area disease, area poison, acid attackoff the top of my head. Name one DOT that TKA has. How bout ranged knockdown or ranged crippling strike? In fact having a pet likea gurrek gives you EVERY specialequivolentto a ranged weapon.

Crippling strike, knockdown, dizzy, blind, stun, intimidate with NO time restriction and NO HAM COST. So you can do your special attacks and your pet does state effects. With TKA maxing the speed cap on attacks this is deadly.

I rarely 'tank' as a TKA. When I fight my enemy is blind, stunned, intimidated, dizzy, and (knocked down if it is an NPC)most of the time . The only time I have to tank is in PVP against a smart opponent but that is the same for any profession+ creature handler.

Pikeman doesn't have dizzy? Your sig says you're a pikeman, but I'm doubting it seriously. We have 2 spin attacks that dizzy and stun consistantly.

I did tkm, mch for a month or so.. Good way to get money as you dont need groups to roll high level 30k plus missions and you acrue huge amounts of hides/meats/bones as a result of this.. sell them at 5cpu at the end of each day (and they do sell). Also pick up novice marksman with some of your extra points. Killing rancors will max your combat exp often and with novice marksman that combat xp is worth about 2k for every 1000 points just hang aroung in coronet and wait for someone looking for app points.. Lots of fun wondering around dathomir looking for bull rancors without fear. and make yourself about 2 mil a week easily

I am currentlya master tk and ch and its great for a lot of things. Especially mantigrue baby hunting anyone who doesnt have the tk meditate tree or a doc is screwed because plague strike will totally ruin your ham. Also I find it a pain to go and get buffed if im already in the wilderness. So having pets able to tank and some brandy lets me take most things in the game.
