Thread: I thought Tivo was crazy

When I first joined these boards, I remember seeing posts by Tivo about his quests to find rares. I gotta tell you, I thought he was a nut.

But after 4 months of being a CH, I can really identify with him. There is something about riding around Endor or Dath surveying every yellow dot with the hopes of it being something worthwhile. After running out of time for scouting around yesterday, I had pretty much tucked tail and was heading back to smugglers when a yellow dot caught my eye. A gurreck baby..Ok, not super rare but lvl 50 with light armor makes it a cool cat. The thrill of being a CH was once again there as I tried to tame it. Fortunately, unlike everything else on the planet, it didn't aggro me and I got it.

I even find myself doing a /waypoint, tap an active lair, run like the devil, and come back to see what spawns. (I know that's bad style, but I can't take out those lairs by myself usually and besides, the next person coming along needs a little challenge :smileyhappy

So, yeah Tivo, we need more to tame!!

Fantoq, great story.

I tamed my gurreck in the middle of of a scrum with some nearby arachnes that invaded the area around the gurreck lair mid tame. This was back in August during the "ring of death" era, when you went a certain distance from the smugglers' outpost, and then you stopped, because there was no way to proceed without blasting a hole though the mission belt.

Great stories. Especially on Dath or Endor where even if you find a baby, there are so many things that can go wrong in the process of taming one. Heheheh

That's where things get the most exciting and rewarding. Nothing like finding a baby and managing to tame it amidst a veritable cornacopia of aggressive beasts.

Perhaps in future publishes the Devs will throw us a few bones on creatures, rare or not, to tame that are actually worth they're weight.

im new to the ch profession and rare pet hunting is a lot of fun. So far I have gotten 2 mantigrue screechers and 2 gaping queen spiders. Im going for the swamp stalker next. That should be fun.

oh yeah and we do need more to tame as in more rly good pets. For example 1 or 2 pets that are better than what be's can make and are rvery rare. That would be a challenge

Lol, yeah, I had three entire lairs of various arachnes chasing me yesterday. They get ticked off pretty easy!

When you look at the creature list on swgcreatures, there's 2 pages of CL 40+ creatures that don't have babies. (not including the ? ones) This compares to only one page of those that have babies. I think the profession would be enhanced a whole lot if they opened some of those non-baby creatures up each month. Even, if suggested in other posts, they were seasonal or 'limited time' type of things.

They still may not exceed BE pets, but there's a pretty good variety in that list.
