This has happened several times now and is getting REALLY anoying.

I am hunting on Dantooine and in mid fight my pet Vanishes. Normally happens once a night although the other night happened in back to back fights. The pet will be tanking and then in mid battle *poof* its gone and then everything attacks me. I go to datapad and only option I have is to store so its out but isn't visable and can't interact with anything. Once I store it then I can call it again. However, I can't store it till the combat timer allows it.

Yes, some people have been having this problem. You should have no trouble finding posts about it here. It's a known bug.
