Today I ran into a most annoying problem.
My BE'd Bantha would not attack Lairs until having been fed first. After being fed, he would attack. When I moved his attacks to something that spawned I had to feed him again before he would attack the Lair. He would attack anything else without problem, just not the Lair.
Sometimes he wouldn't be hungry, but I still had to give the Feed command before he would attack the Lair. After I got the "Bantha isn't hungry" message and gave the attack command, he'd charge in.
Now, when I gave the attack command before feeding him, he would stagger towards the lair a step or so then just stand there. He wouldn't be "in combat" per having the combat sigil showing, but I had to give the Follow command before I could do anything else because he acted as if he were in combat, as far as commands were concerned.
This just started happening since I trained him as a Mount. I have no other mountable pets, so I don't know if this is a Mount/combat problem or not. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Wouldn't let it worry you too much, shouldn't be getting any ch xp for lairs anyways.....
If you were using your pet to steal all the aggro by bashing the lair then you will at least find gameplay more 'entertaining' now! Seriously though it's not a problem I have experienced yet...

Thats a new one to me also. The mounts not wanting to attack has happened quite often. I use the follow target command then attack. the hungry thing, I don't know, did you report it as a bug?

not sure if it's a bug or not but i've never gotten a bantha to attack a lair. whenever i tried i got the same result, slowly staggering towards it but won't attack or aggro it.
i don't think it's a mounted pet issue as my mounted carrion spat will attack a lair (did it on accident, got swarmed by jungle voritors)

Could be a ferocity issue, and deliberate?
Maybe if there was a radial menu option on the lair for "eat lair" they might go for it

Why are you sending in your pet to attack a lair anyway?
You don't get CH XP for a pet attacking a lair, and the pet's damage decreases the weapon and combat XP that you receive which can be substantial on a wild critter lair.

I know the only time I have had a pet complain that it was hungry was when a bleed state had been added during a fight with a swamp stalker, but the pet didn't refuse to work. Mind you my pets are mostly tamed wilders not BE's so there may be something in that?!?!?!?!?!?

Never have had this problem either, but that might be cause i don't use my bantha mount in combat... do a /bug report, and send a CSR ticket... they should be able to tell you if its working a intended or not...
as per the quote... i so wish i could tame one of those buggers... wicked mind diesase err... poison... heh... would go perfect with master swordsman...

This does sound like the "mounts stalling out when ordered to attack" bug. Has your bantha been trained as a mount? Were you ordering it to attack a target more than 64 meters away?
Generally the workaround sadnebula mentioned seems to help. Have your mount Follow Target to get to melee range, than order it to Attack. But yeah, this bug is issue #9 on our Issue/Request list.

I've noticed this in a wider way. Often you get a pet that starts following very slowly. I'va always found that if you feed them they suddenly start moving at their normal rate. Not sure if this is a bug or some kind of "feature", but its been like that a long time. Its not just mounts, but nearly any pet. Try it out some time when you can't get them to follow you properly.

I've noticed that my giant carrion spat is relucatant to charge at full speed into combat unless I'm within 64m of the target. Normally this isn't a problem; most NPCs, for example, don't aggro on you that far out. I like to use the spat to take on aggro from mission base NPCs, I come on in, and take them out one at a time, with either novice TK skills (1000 point hits with VK and unarmed2) or one of my master marksman tools, such as a carbine or pistol, making sure the spat gets one hit on each NPC for CH XP purposes.

Sorry guys, was gone for a week.
Bantha is trained as a mount, was within 64 meters, I attack lairs with my mount only to keep all the Boss MOB's from ganging up on me, I haven't tried with my other mount to see if its Bantha related, sent Bug Report after second event.....
whew...
Anything else? It just seemed odd to me, this bug. The "staggering towards the target" is a more apt description than what I gave.
