I was thinking of becoming a Creature-Handler, but i dont know if that is such a good idea.. so i thought id go ask on this forum and hope the pro's can help me out
First of all, i was thinking of going Master Creature-Handler, then maybe Master Swordsman.. but this is where the problem starts!
With a GOOD pet, what can i do, can i do missions with good success _without_ being buffed, will the pet do well enough to kill stuff? can i heal the pet with normal stimpacks? what are pet stimpacks and what profession can make them?
I want to try a profession that can kill stuff, do quests etc without being buffed by a doctor... ive seen players with pets that have over 10k HAM and that would be kinda cool?
Thats all i can think of at the moment, hopefully someone response and i maybe can ask a couple of more questions.

HAM cost on swordsman are huge, and youll be tanking along with your pet. They will switch to you often if melee.

I am having a blast with CH. If you want an effective combo, try Rifleman. I just mastered rifle and it is really making raising CH much easier.
pet stims are made by Bio Engineers. Regular stims can heal pets.
without buffing your pets will tank very well for you, as you will be far away.
My template (I don't do much in the way of PVP btw) is
Master Rifle, MCH (workin on it) Medic 4-0-4-0
I can stim D myself or the pet for great heals.
-My two cents.

I am going to be the same, though not sure on how to distribute the medic skills. Is 4040 the best way for medic dabbling?

Hi Vamp,
What I found from switching around a bit is this.
Pros of 4-0-4-0
Stop bleeding with FA 2
Reliably High heals from FA and pharma
Ability to use stim D's and possibly (help me out here guys) experimented Stim E's?
Cons
You can't make your own meds.
diagnostics suppposedly makes you able to heal quicker in between intervals...I never noticed this when I had a couple blocks of it...but then I only really group with my pet and heal myself and him.
As for making your own meds, the stims you can make even with organic IV will never compare to what docs can make and sell cheap. You are better off taking the time you would have spent on making the stims and gathering meat for 5 minutes and trading it to a doc for a crate or two of good stims.
Alot of people will say that this many points in medic as a tertiary support prof is unnecessary. I agree somewhat...but my feeling on it is this. No other profession had anything to offer my template. The professions that I had to prereq in also had nothing to offer my template by going up in the other areas (ie survival and trapping in scout, pistol/carb/ranged in marksman).
Give it a shot. Getting this kind of medic skill is very easy with a macro and a tumbler...or even just in a cantina helping out the aspiring dancers/musicians.
I think you will really like it.

Thanks, i already have some medic skills (2121 IIRC) and maxed XP back from when i was Master Medic, so that wont be much of a problem to get 4040 in a day or 2

Oh, and i prefer to buy meds, especially because carrying crates of them keeps my inventory clean. No need to carry a tool and resources around
