Former President of SOE has a few choice words:

"When asked if he takes into account consumer input Flock is dismissive, relying instead on the expertise of his staff. 'No, we never talk to consumers - they just f--- us up. Someone asked for a copy of our market research which made us take the decision to do EverQuest. I said we hadn't done any market research. Had we done, the game would never have been made. We never focus on them. Gamers don't know what they want. We just want to know if they have a valid credit card.'"

Great read. They sure did put the hammer down on them about the combat revamp. Had them tripping all over themselves.

That's the nice one. This is the one Sony didn't want you to see.

GI: What were some of the features and additions that you guys mentioned when you first announced the Combat Revamp?

Blackman: It had to do with moving some numbers around and things like that so that we were balancing things like armor, which will get a complete overhaul. All of the moves and their associated costs will also get a complete balance path. We’ve talked really high level about those sorts of things. But we hadn’t really released any major details.I would say in terms of new features there wasn’t really anything promised and we can’t talk too much detail right now about the scope of the combat revamp because we’re just wrapping our heads around how we’re going to kind of increase it and what the scope will be.We have meetings all this week to discuss it so hopefully next week we’ll be able to start talking about it.We also really want to find ways to engage the community. We’ve been moving very, very fast and that’s something that people don’t seem to recognize.

FUUUUU** you Blackman. If you had not really talked about it why the hell did CH get nerfed. You pompous, sack of **edit**, liar. You know damned well that SOMETHING was talekd about. If you did not then you just went on paper and looked like an idiot.

See my fellow tamers, they do not care. No mention at all that moving as fast as they can still has taken 8 months to get us this far. Which is nowhere. Have not released any major details? What about nerfing CH? Isn't that a detail?? We are not a part of the scope I saw you say. New features? Promises? How the hell about we will catch the other professions up in a month or two?

Lies. Lies. LIES!!!!! It is all lies. Just lying more and more to get what they want.

IGNPC: We often hear the loudest cries from a relative minority. Still, it seems odd that all the comments sent our way have been negative.

Haden Blackman: Yeah, all the guys who are happy with everything are playing the game. They aren't spending their time sending you guys letters or posting on the forums.

IGNPC: That adds some perspective but it's not very comforting to those who are upset by the delay.

Haden Blackman: We recognize that this is an unfortunate slip in our schedule, an unfortunate move. We really wanted to try and get the combat balance out before Jump to Lightspeed. This isn't something that we're happy about either but we really do want to take the time to get it right.

More and more the feedback we're getting, especially about the combat balance, has led us to the conclusion that our original plan wasn't all-encompassing enough and that we needed to step back and figure out what we were going to do and then communicate that to the community and get their feedback. With the speed that we've been moving in the past, we haven't been able to engage the community as much as would have liked to. I think we've improved that since launch but we still have room for improvement. That's another reason we want to take more time to do this combat revamp.

20% of the player base posts to the forum. We apparently are the 20% that do not matter according to Haden. He seems to intimate that this 20% will never be heard. Haden also states they want to do the balance before JTLS. But they are not. This is confusing to me. I have never done something I did not want to do before something I did.

Haden also says that our expectations for the combat revamp were high. This does not seem strange that he states it. But has not every Blunderhead answer been "WAIT FOR THE COMBAT REBALANCE"?

Well Haden these posts have definitely cleared things up for me. The Devs simply tell us one thing and then do another. It is apparent from reading both of these posts that SWG is done. The Devs speak out both sides of their mouth. I hope you don't kiss your mom with that mouth Haden.

ALL THE ANSWERS WE COMBAT REBALANCE. NOW ALL THE ANSWERS ARE "WE ARE CLUELESS AND WE HAD NO PLAN. Thanks haden for showing the CH that the two part combat rebalance was lead by a team of Devs that had no intention of doing anything but nerfing CH. Thanks for letting me know that cancelling 4 accounts was worth it. Thanks for letting me know that another 200 bucks for JTL was saved. Thanks for letting us know you are all pathetic liars.

Only the vocial minority that is upset actually writes?????

you mean the FTOM players who are clueless on how to do anything but spam specials like Headshot over and over.

They are so in overtheir heads and out of touch with the player base it hurts.

Just admit it already.

So As long as I use my laptop WHILE playing the game, does that make me happy majority member, or a disgruntled minority member Mr. Blackman?

Dear Mr Blackman. While I sit here waiting for 10 min for a shuttle to another world I just happen to have a 2nd computer and read and post to the forums. So which class do I belong to? Besides the obvious MCH

Since they have pretty much said that they have scrapped the origonal combat balance plans do you suppose that it would be too much trouble for them to put back the stuff they "balanced" in error.?
