Creature Handler Archive

The header says it all. Went to endor, south east of the research outpost, just to see what I could see and lo and behold there it was, a mantigrue screecher lair! So I pop out my cat (not always the smartest thing to do in aggro-land) and take out the first two screechers, no problem. Then another adult pops up and I send my cat after it, no sooner did I do that when the baby arrived.

Naturally it aggroed my cat, and I'm thinking, nooooo, my cat will kill it. I try taming the baby, but it is all over my pet, so I call my pet away....bad move. Because as I'm calling it away, the screechers, momma and the baby are after my cat, and guess who's standing in the direct line of fire from plague strike? Hehe, wow, my action started ticking away in big chunks, and not only that, it left wounds. I'm popping stims and what not to stay alive, but I manage to kill momma and stow my cat.

So I commence to taming the screecher baby. First three attempts failed, and all the time, my action bar is getting lower and lower and lower. Then just when I think my fourth attempt will work, guess who shows up? Wild Boar Ravagers....and they start attacking my legs...action...now if I run, I might live, but I would lose the tame--so being a dedicated MCH I stick it out and hope I don't get incapped before the tame takes hold...but my legs just can't take the abuse from the plague and the boars and down I go. Incap 1. Incap 2 a few seconds later, not sure how ...so now I have a few seconds before incap 3 hits...by this time I have 970+ wounds! And down I go for the third time, incapped, and clone. I rush back to the lair, only to find it despawned.....and reapers have taken its place. I spend the next couple of hours trying to heal myself...lol It was a lot of fun.

Epilogue....I went back tonight, grouped with another MCH to get the mission spawns-23k each, and we each tame a screecher. We averaged 1 screecher baby per 4 lairs. And this time I kept my cats back from the action, but they still managed to get aggro a time or two...

So the babies are out there. And with any luck you should be able to get your screecher in a night or two..just remember to clone first and get that buff! no2
