posted by a swg correspondent, who recently completed testing in austin for SOE. I cannot see any reason a correspondent would post something like this as a joke, or lie. there are other posts going around which seem to confirm what this guy says, including advertisement on the newest swg package release at the end of this month.

Theres more info on this IGN boards post, as well as a recent post by Tiggs.

It may be too early to panic, since they seem to be trying to find a way to consolidate the classes that are already ingame. For all we know, CH could be an offshoot of Commando or Bounty Hunter and be an actual combat profession (instead of support.)

screw this! I want to be able to change my professions at will. I want to be able to play my creature handler and be good. What the hell is wrong with this dev team. What about our input!? Ive been through since day 3 and if this is true I might be finnaly gone! /hope this is a joke

i sincerely hope your right, but it doesnt look that way to me. im afraid everything ive worked for since launch is about to dissapear into the ethernet. ch is the only reason i play this game. i was just thinking last night as i was playing with my new raptor how much it would suck to someday not be able to be a ch anymore

See, that's just it. While the new expansion didnt add a lot of things for us, there were some pretty nice things added (like new pets to tame, and the CH necklace.) Its just rather hard to believe that they are going to nix the profession in total. At least change our title to Droid Handler and convert all of our pets to bots or something...

Someone who is testing in Austin just stated that CH was not part of the 9 professions. They're really not sure what is going to happen to this profession it seems because they weren't able to test it (kind of like all the melee professions vanished)

Here's the skinny from Austin...






Well, this should all be on Test Center on Friday. I *highly* recommend everyone log in when it's time and test it for yourself with a new character. I'm thinking that this is what the Combat Upgrade SHOULD have been.

Creature Handlers and Bio-Engineers.. will be no more.

The other classes will be condensed.. one "medic" profession, one "entertainer" profession..

Classes are as follows:

Commando
Bounty Hunter
Officer
Trader
Spy
Smuggler
Medic
Entertainer

and Force Sensitive.

Yes, you'll be able to start as a Jedi.






It's a shame, because I really enjoy the CH profession. I was a little sad when a buddy took his account back with the CH I'd built on it.





No decay + uber loot = /spit on crafters

Fix the economy and give crafters their $$$ worth... give us real revamp.

Remember... to Cancel you have to go to Register Expansion in the Launchpad.

Now coming will be a drastic change in skills. There will be 9 classes as follows:

Smuggler, Bounty Hunter, Commando, Medic, Force Sensitive, Officer (think SL), Tradesman, Entertainer, Spy. Poli and Pilot will remain unchanged.

Most experience can no be either quest based or grinding. With skills will come abilities as well as rewards. Crafters will have 4 sub crafters. I will not get into the large scale of the changes. As there are others that are also having things to say about it.

Basic points, entertainers and crafters will no longer draw agro unless they pick a fight. There are drastic changes to the way that specials work. I will be writing up basic 0.1 guides when I get back home tonight. Those will be in more detail.

This was part of a cor's post. although ch isnt mentioned in the 9 classes,


I read this as those 9 classes won't be changed. meaning ch will be.


Considering its already time for the cu part 2 I'm pretty sure this isn't good.


I am also wondering when they had time for this. Is this the original CU that was scrubbed for the sub standard coding tossed at us last march. Did the collapse of the game back then promt coninued work on the original?

Cry out on the NGE Fourms, tell the devs we want our Critters, dont let them Drug us up with new items and promices to slit our throats, cry while we still can

Funny I see alot more ch than 1 in every 100 people

Sorry Jope....we have already been eliminated. And given how the last CU was handled, it isnt going to be pretty. Guess we just don't count.



At least we can keep our titles........LOL, man this sucks!!
