Hi all.

First, I'd like to thank everyone that posts to this forum, the information contained in here has been invaluable to my learning the fundamentals of Creature Handling. I generally lurk on the forums to glean information but almost never post. Most of my questions have been answered and the search/advanced search tool easily gives me my solution.

But there is so much conflicting/confusing information on this one question that I need some clarification from you MCHs:

Is the Pet Management skill still the thing to shoot for as a Novice? Does it still give more experience to have two pets out? I'm guessing no, but I've heard contradictory info (including from a high-level CH in-game).

Also, any straightforward advice on what skills help the most for a beginner like myself? I know everyone has their opinions, and I have mine, but if you're willing to share on one more thread I'd be much obliged!

Thanks very much to everyone here, this remains one of the best forums on the board in my opinion.

First of, No havving mutible pets do not give more xp.

I personally would recommend that you start by taking the first management box so you can group with you pet

in my experiance, grouping with your pet give a bit more xp, the second box i would take is Empathy 1 so you can teach your pets the Trick1 skill so you can heal their Mind bar. after that i would recommend Training so you can store more pets, the Taming tree isn't that important as you need Taming 2 before you can tame aggressive creatures, and the Special Attack commands don't work.

it really depends on how you are going to use it. the way i went up was doing the following 1 1 1 1, then 2 1 1 1, 2 2 1 1, 2 2 1 2, 2 2 1 3 . doing mgmt wont help you if your taming anc pet lvl are not up there. so be careful. even if you can bring 2 pet out it wont help you if you cant control the pets.

good luck

I'm a newnovice Ch as well. I've decided to learn the skill, forget which one, that allows my pets to do trick1. I hadn't planned on going that route, but I've found my wrix baby takes a lot of blows to the head. He was knocked cold three times last night, with still 70% health left. I plan to work my up the tree alternating between management and tamming.
