Creature Handler Archive

Giant carrion spats are unique in that they're considered too large to be used as mounts when they reach their full size. A Creature Handler can train them as mounts immediately after taming them, but eventually they'll reach a point at which they'll no longer bemountable unless you stop their growth.

When this happens, you get a one time pop-up window asking if you want to halt the pet's growth, or allow it to continue growing and lose mount functionality forever. It sounds like your giant carrion spat's previous owner chose to stop its growth (and thus preserve it as a mount). Once this decision has been made for a particular pet, it is permanent.

If you simply must have a full sized GCS in your menagerie, they pop up at random around Corellia. Best places to find wild spawns is the area around the hidden (only because Imps aren't smart enough to use the POI tab in the datapad!)Rebel Base (NW of Kor Vella) and in the Agrilat Swamp...go look for some babies!

You may still be able to get GCS missions as well. They're in the 20-25 range IIRC, but I haven't seen one for a while.
