Thread: With upcoming expansion a need for a larger datapad is needed now more then ever before!!!!
I absolutly agree with you Milteck. There are many reasons for more datapad slots since ive been CH. And now with new mounts from RotW and the upcoming new fauna from mustafar i found a lot more reasons to increase the datapad storage!
Some reasons in fact:
- there are different mounts...even if you dont tame any wild mountable pets, there are 3 quest/reward mounts (varactyl, kashyyykian bantha, bolotaur)
- a master CH is able to call double or triple pets....so it would be nice to have at least 1 good pair of pets and a nice trio. This make 5 slots at all.
- getting some good fight pets near the tameable cap (now 70, with the expansion raise up to 80)
- getting some rare pets....with the new system there are not so many rares like before, but at all some nice trophies which someone maybe want to have
- keep old rares and beloved tames from the time before the new system went live
- keeping some slotsopen for taming mounts/pets for friends/customers or getting some tapes to learn abilities from them
I think these are the mainspots every CH would agree....and this alone let you come close to the datapad cap now. Not to speak of the normal pets which everyone tames just because he like them. Personally i have a wishlist of near 70 pets (old rares, new rares, fightpets, mounts etc). Since i play this profession (nearly 2 years now) ive been struggling with the storage cap and one of my main wishes is to get more space for my little friends. Imho there are 2 ways....
1. Increase the datapad storage like Milteck said. Double up at least to 44, which should be easy to do...just double the slots a CH gets with every new skillbox.
2. Give a Master CH the possibility to redeed pets and store them at a data module on a droid. This would be a little more difficulty to introduce, but it also give some nice possibilities by side. It would give as the possbility of selling pets at the market...so the CH gets a chance to do some business and earn some money. Also a new droid module could be introduced...so the DE gets some new stuff. Or at least....the corral idea, which would infect a whole bunch of professions (CH, BE, DE, Scout, maybe Ranger)
How ever.....the point is. WE NEED MORE SPACE. I think Ko-Alri should set this point up to the top of"Top Issue"list and push it to the Devs as often as possible to show how important this is (i think it is...maybe the com raises up her voice a lil bit on this issue
)
I hope it was understandable...my english is not the best /blush

I agree also, as I wrote in another thread I would be satisfied for the time being, if they just opened the datapad up to us giving people the choice of what to place in there. Instead of 4 vehicels, 5 ships, 6 droids I could have another 10 pets to fill some of those spots.
I would love double the storage capacity since it would allow me to go out and buy some new be pets while continuing the pet grind with skills but as for right now I simply have no room for a post cu bio pet. I guess my helping the economy roll along isn't going to happen untill I have more room :-)
We have needed the extar space for a long time and the need now is very urgent.
I posted many many months ago that they should take the stored pet modifier in the skills trees and just increase those numbers:
A non-ch should start with 5 pet slots - given the all the freebie mounts, this is logical.
When you hit novice CH you can store an additional 5 pets giving you a total of 10 pets.
For every box in the Creature Training line you gain an additional 5 pets, giving you another 20 and a total of 30 so far.
At master level you gain a further 10 storage places giving you 40 in total.
This (to me ayway) makes sense.
While it probably won't happen i really hope it does as storage is a massive issue for every CH.
It's not a gamebreaking request so i don't see any reason why this can't be done.
Some would argue that if/when they remove the pet call timer it'd make us overpowerful as we'd just keep calling pets out...
of course they would be wrong as you'd be limited to not being able to call pets when in combat...
Anyway, please please give us more pet storage space.
