I had an excellent time grinding my new Boar Wolf Ravenger (CL65). I got a CL1 player to group with my pet, then I used a macro to start killing yard trash critters. I didn't look at the time when I started but I recon that I'd opened up all 11 ability slots in about 2 hours!
Now I just need to work out which abilities to stick on him. He already has innate Marring Storm L3. My Boar Wolf can Area attack so I don't really want to stick anything on thats going to increase his agro, but should I reduce his agro or stick thick skin & lightning reflexes on him.
Does anyone else have a BWR & what you abilites have you applied?

It's quite difficult, depending on the role of such a pet. You will probably only use it for medium level enemies, as it will die quite quickly when going against severalhigh level mobs. Or, if you are in a group, where the pet just supports the whole group when doing area attacks (It worked very well with my bloodseeker mite queen in the Hracca Glades, when we were all area-attacking anyway). I would suggest these abilities:
Thick Skin 3
Guarded Stance 3
Vigorous Health 3
and then either Lightning Reflexes 2 or Frenzied Blitz 2. Probably Frenzied Blitz, as it has 3 defensive Abilities already with the above template.

i would go for the same main abilities as Drecki.
perhaps u can then add 1 or 2 special attacks. the nice things about an area attacker is that it uses the specials as aoe attack too. so an intimidate area attack might be useful or imperiling feint (area defensive debuff - sounds nice).
