Thread: Something to prepare for when Trials goes live...

One of the "fixes" in Trials of Obi-Wan is that the devs had raised the action and mind costs of all medic, doctor, and CM healing. Many, many people were complaining about it. The new costs made it difficult to be a dedicated healer and nearly impossible to both heal and fight. You'd find yourself out of action pool in short order.


This affects CH to the extent that many of us have 0040 medic or some variant in order to heal our pets. Consider it fair warning that, if you have a secondary combat profession, you may find yourself having to choose between healing your pet and firing your combat specials.


This is the sort of change that will affect everyone, not just subscribers to Trial. If it goes to Live unchanged, then only characters that are dedicated healers are going to be able to effectively keep the group healed up. Personally, I see this as yet another move in SOE's plan to "focus" the game by removing all hybrids. If you want to "be a healer" then you have to be a dedicated healer by taking Master Combat Medic and Master Doctor together. In other words, you have to be a "cleric". To show how bad it got, there was one fellow on the beta forum who was advising people to /sit during combat to regain action faster... a suggestion that should be sending a shudder down the spine of every ex-EQ player who reads this...


There's no knowing what will go live or how much it will be changed from the current system. Just be prepared for the worst, IMO.

Im pretty sure you can't sit down while in combat? It gave me messages that you cannot sit down while in combat....

Actually you are incorrect. on both counts. You CAN sit down, prior to initiating combat, how ever you will be stood up once you get agroed. Be assured , you WILL be agroed, especially if you are doing area heals. Now what you can do is KNEEL. This will allow you to re-gen faster, as well as initiate combat/ defend your self if/when agroed. The only healing proff that i am aware of that does not gain agro from healing others is JEDI..BUT they genrate agro just buy activly ussing any jedi skills( ie: force powers/sabers ect), once combat is initiated. this coming from a MCH/MBH/CM4000
