i've had this happen to me as well... the pet i was trying to transfer was even a level 10 and callable by the other person, yet he couldn't get it. Anyone else seen this as well?

For a non-CH, I think you have to be sure the creature is level 10 or lower AND that it is a non vicious creature. I had tried to give a pet to someone that was level 10, but it wouldn't let me trade it. I found out later it was because the creature was vicious. If the person is non-CH, I don't think you can trade them a creature that is over level 10.

Another thing you want to check if you are fairly certain you can trade the creature, you want to be sure the person you are trading to has all his/her pets AND droids stored. This will prevent you from trading too I have found out.

They really need to add some kind of feedback when something like this happens instead of just "trace cancelled." It's very frustrating when you don't know why you can't trade your pet.

You can trade pets even if the CL is beyond the recipient's control (I had someone hold a mature hanadak rock smasher for me while training pets the other day). It's the viciousness modifier that can act as a 'gotcha' and preventthe pet from even being traded. Taming clothes can make up for that, though. By having a non-CH wear my taming pants, he was able toget the rock smasher through the trade window with no problems (he couldn't call it, of course).

But yeah... thepet transfer error message is always 'too many pets' whether that's the actual error or not. It can be kind of confusing in cases like this, where the real hold up is viciousness.

i've noticed it sometimes happens as well if the person has one of their droids called out at the time. it simply won't let me transfer it.

Ran into this today. A non-ch had bought a level 7 Choku and wanted me to tame it. He had no pets in his datapad and the choku was in deed form. I transfered a level 16 tusk cat to him to hold and tamed the choku. Nothing I did worked to transfer the choku back to him. I even had a master CH teach him transfer. I didn't think to check viciousness, but I'll check that when I log back on. He was able to hold a level 16 tusk cay and a level 20 bantha so I know level was not the issue.

i used to run into this all the time, and it always came down to them having there droids out. it especialy happens with the 'helper' droids. for some reason the system seems to count them as pets when there out.

Choku's are vicious, therefore non-CH useable.(I looked on Sumorex's excellent list on the BE forum, in the FAQ)However, the originalproblem is that someone has to have an open spot to trade, so if he was full(2 pets) and you were full(whatever your max is) you cannot trade...the recipient has to have an open slot, you can't trade when both are full, even if you both have pets in the window.

Yeah, non-CHs can only have ONE pet, period, out at a time. CHs can have out a creature pet, a droid, and a faction pet all at once.

Last night I was in Coronet starport and shouted that I was giving away 2 mounts, lvl 15 feral bantha and a lvl 20 mountain dewback.

After not too long I got some replies:

The first guy was a master artisian but said he was almost a CH, so he'd take one. I tried transfer command and trading through the datapad. Transfer would say, "This person has too many pets" or something. Datapad transaction would just cancel after hitting OK. This guy said he had NO pets, except for a droid or two. No matter what we tried, we couldn't trade the pet.

A second guy said he'd take one for his guild, but the same message appeared "too many pets"

Was the pet level too high for them to even posess, or is something else going on here? I thought you could have a pet, just not be able to call it, and non-CH's could have up to 3 pets or something. If this is the case why doesn't it say that instead of "TOO MANY PETS!"
