Thread: Pet summoning question.
For the last month, since making Master CH, I've been able to summon a pet anywhere. No camp, No city, no nothing.
I just put down a house and declared a residence, and now I need to be in camp, or city.
Was I bugged before, or am I bugged now?
This is really bugging me.
Fealorn,
You were actually bugged before. You may still be able to call anywhere, but on another planet or near a building or other structure. It actually happend to me also, I can call anywhere on any planet except for my home planet. At first I thought it was a change to CH abilities, or a fix for the Autostore bug. But, after reading a few threads on it, it is a bug. My hope is they make this an ability not a bug. . .

From my experiences there is a "halo" around your declared residence in which you cannot call your pets. Near your house you can call them, and outside of this halo you can call them. Maybe I'm bugged I don't know, but this is the way it works for me.
This is what I experience as well, and the "halo" isn't all that deep.
I can call at will just about anywhere as a result. I don't mind it at all, particularly when the critters get stuck at the no build zone lines around the cities on the starter worlds. Tatooine seems to be the worst.

Huge problem.
Grifers have done this to me for the past 5 days
They come and steal my droid then have it attack somethign then that thing cmoes back and attacks my entire group.
this is GRIEFING.
IT greatly lessens my gameplay experience when it happens over and over especially within a 5 hour period.
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO DEVS??
MAKE SURE WE STORE OUR PETS WHENEVER SOMEONE COMES UP TO TAKE IT? OR SOMEOEN WE "SUSPECT" WIL LTAKE IT??
I mean this virtually negates ALL need for ANY CH skills
You can take anyone's kimogila if you want. And yes it follows orders and fights.
And NO there are no protections against this griefing..
/stay and /guard do NOT work.
Ok, I'm a little confuzzled as to why this ancient post was exhumed, but here goes. No one can command your pet to attack unless you have used the friend command on that person, and then only that person can command your pet. The /summon simply makes your pet/droid follow the person doing it. All you have to do to prevent it is give the "follow me" command and they will have to spam summon again to get it to follow again. If they drag the pet past an aggro mob the pet/droid will get aggro, and then drag it back to you, but without /friend no one can command your pet but you. I would /report the person for griefing, make sure you include their name, and then /bug it to make sure they get all the info...yes, it is griefing, and I'm not trying to make light of it, just point out exactly what's happening andhow to prevent your pet from bringing home friends. "Just say Heel!" Not quite as catchy as Nancy's phrase, but oh well. Basically, if you're going afk store your pets. If you're atk then use "follow me" and your pet will return.
