Thread: Idea For New Taunt Commands

Looking at another thread about the old pet trick commands gave me an idea: Why not modify Pet Trick 1 and Pet Trick 2 into the new pet taunt ability people have been asking for?


Since the CU, pet tricks have been made superfluous. The two commands used to heal the pets' mind wounds, but those wounds don't seem to occur any longer. Changing both commands into taunts would give them a purpose again, and would make the job of creating the taunt abilityeasier for the devs. They've already got them listed in the training menu and all the creatures already have animations associated with the commands. All that's left for the programmers to do is to have the tricks trigger a taunt when activated.


Trick 1 could trigger a taunt against whatever your pet is fighting at the time. The idea being that your creature performing its trick distracts the enemy towards the pet.


Trick 2 should be more powerful, since it comes later in the skill tree. It could act as an "area taunt", focusing the attention of all the enemies in a small radius around it. This would help quite a bit when you have two or three mobsattacking your groupat once.


So what does everyone think? Good idea, or bad?
