I've already /bug'ged this in game, but figured I'd post it here as well. Test Center seems to be having problems with pets at the moment. When I call a pet, it ignores all commands and only has an "examine" option on the radial menu. When I store the pet using the datapad, the pet doesn't disappear visibly, but I can call it again (and have another of the same pet I can't command).
I suspect it is due to the hardware changes and is only temporary of course.

Once they fix that try using older pets and see if they get slow... i seem to have problems with older pets slowing down... they seem to be following slower and reacting slower, is this a regular thing for you guys as well?
It almost seems like they are standing at an angle and trying to run straight, and seem to act like when they are bumping into stuff like rocks and harvesters.
This is getting really annoying.
One of my 2 Home made Nargalatchs is starting to do this, this is especially annoying since they were able to keep up with my speeder bike, so I could just cruise and they were right behind me, now that I am working on the second group of PATROLS the one is lagging behind.
If there is a valid reason for this then fine, but he has susstained no vitality loss, and is feed often.

I haven't been able to consistently reproduce pets slowing down. I *think* it happens when the pets gets stuck on something and it causes them to switch to walk mode or something like that. Usually storing and recalling the pet seems to fix it.
I've also seen it though when I am heading in a particular direction that the pet will follow very slowly, but if I change direction it will go full speed again.
It's a pretty darn frustrating bug when it happens. I haven't seen any association though with "older" pets.

When I say older, I really mean heavily used... sine I made these bad boys, I haven't really used much else. I haden't had this problem with these pets until last night.

I can't reproduce this. I just logged into Test Center and my pets seem to be working normally. Is this still happening? Was this on TC-Prime?

Yes, and yes.
Maybe it is just in select areas though? The baby bantha I called this morning was right where I left it when I logged on just now to check on Dathomir and a QA person was asking if anyone needed a lift off of Dathomir. Other players were mentioning vehicle problems as well. It's probably related to the hardware changes and pretty temporary.

This is Test Center "prime" (the original) -- not the one with all the character builders. It's a pretty lightly populated server.

From the way you describe it, yeah... it does sound like something wonky was happening specific to Dathomir on TC-Prime. Hopefully just a temporary result of the hardware config changes.

i've been on dathmor on TC2 and TC.... with the addition of the village its a laggy planet now... but hearing the further info, it sounds like something that would happen from time to time on reg servers... when you could pull out every pet from your datapad multipul times... they wouldn't listen to any commands but you could look at them... it was entertaing for a couple minutes to see all of your pets out at once, i even had a SS taken with everything lined up...

Just an update -- I found yesterday afternoon that even the /logout command wasn't working where I was so it's a more generic problem then just pets. Hopefully it'll be fixed on TC over the next few days (and never see the light of day on the live servers!)

I think "lag" has a few different meanings. Most of the lag I've seen around the village has been due to having to draw the village along with the hoards of players moving around, shouting, etc. It's similar to the Coronet and Theed starports.
The other type of lag, network latency either on your route over the Internet to the server, within SOE's network, or I suppose a lack of processing power on the server causing a delay is something I don't usually see much of (at least not lately) on either TC or Bria. I do see quite a bit of graphics lagginess in "busy" areas, but it usually doesn't manifest itself elsewhere on the same planet.
I think the problem you mentioned sounds very much like server lag (the server's ability to process everything isn't keeping up with demand), although I can't say I've seen that myself. Interesting though hearing what everyone else experiences with regards to lagginess as it's so difficult to determine if it's *my* computer that needs an upgrade or if something server side is going on!
