Thread: Yet ANOTHER annoyance in the post pub 21 universe

This is seriously annoying.

You tame the baby. The old behavior was, the baby immediately starts following you. If there was an autofollow on an adult around the lair, it was broken and replaced with an autofollow on the CH.

No more. The baby keeps following the adult, just fast enough so that the new also very annoyingfloating radial menu cannot be clicked to bring up the taming box so you can give the pet its first command, which I've discovered really needs to be "follow me" for two reasons: to get the little tyke to follow you, and to see what specials the new tame may bring to the table.

Ko, can you put a bug into the ear of the devs about this?

i always put my toon in follow mode when trying to tame. then i type /tame instead of the radial button.

Yes, the following after a tame is broken, but just use your datapad to store it if your in hostile territory. Or just train it right there on the spot the follow command.

I also follow the pet. In addition, after a successful tame, (since you probably have the tame already targeted) don't use the right-click. Use the ~ button to bring up the radial menu, and either attempt to train it on the spot or store it.

A workaround if you want to call it that is to just move away from the nest.

At your leisure "store" the pet from the datapad whenever you want...

I know it isnt a fix but it has saved me from having mask break at an inopportune time.

Hummmm ... I have found that after taming and training "follow", the pet will still not obey "follow" until I store it and call it again? Anyone else see this?

Please edumacate me on the ~?

If you use ~4, does that automatically select the fourth option (clockwise) on the radial menu?

If so, will it respond to a macro using ~4?

The '~' key, and I do not believe it is macroable, bring up the radial menu.

The number is the option number listed. If you press then number instead of the button, it will act as if you clicked on the button. In this case, 4 calls the taming menu.

5 if you are autofollowing the little beastie. As to the follow parent I never noticed before cause I used to tame and store and run so that I might live.

With the new system while taming yard trash for those pesky level 1s I have been training on the spot and noticed the follow the adult after I tamed it. Doesn't make sense from an RP point of view so lets call it a bug. (/bugged in game )

Has it been normal behavior for a second baby spawn to autofollow your newly tamed baby while you're still training it?

Actually you can macro bringin up the radial menu, but Idont remember the exact UI command off the top of my head because its been awhile since I've used it. However you can NOT macro pressing '4' to tame.

~4 (or ~5 if following) is your new friend.

I find it annoying, too, but I am getting more used to this method to pull up the training box with all the low-level mobs I'm having to tame for specials.
