i just tamed a level 7 murra with self-sacrifice L1. and altho i want to learn that ability, he's probably not the best creature to ask to take hits for me *giggle*. so i wonder if we have to trigger them a lot to learn them, i have been so far but it never was this bad an idea before. thanks =)
No you don't have to use them to learn them. I have learned several triggered skills from pets but only just started haveing them use the special to see if it affected the speed that I would learn the skill.

funny, CL of the pet dont seem to matter much, I have a CL8 Zucca Boar Baby and it has Eye Gouge to blind stuff, it is a baby and it blinds CL17 Rhonto. Its kind of funny to see that little thing go after Dewbacks, Bantha and blind them, I still have not learned Eye Gouge yet.
3 of the Baby Zucca Boar pulled at once and they chew most stuff they attack donw fast. I do seem to experiencing a bug. I tell them to attach a nest or layer and they do, but after that, even if I target a spawn animal and tell them attack, they run back at the nest/layer instead of the animal. I have ot call them off again and tell them to guard me to get them to go after the animal. I bugged it, its hapening on Gorath Server

You should have seen my CL10 squall knocking down CL82 bols, now that was funny. Good information BTW

When you pet gets stuck on a lair, you can tell it to follow twice in a row. This clears its list of combat targets.

I've had CL4 toads and butterflies KD and blind level 82 mission targets... In fact, they seem to have a better than 50% success rate, even with the level 1 versions of those specials.

I learned the L1 KD from a vine rawl, which routinely took down fambaa with its KD move.
Every bit as logical as me using a DL44 to take down a bol.

AH, ok so the abilities are random learned by you as the CH, so just keep using the pet... Thanks.
Somewhere during the second cycle of the pet's XP and the fifth, you'll get a message that you've learned the pet's ability.
At that point, you can release the pet to the wild; it's done it's job.
