We ARENT already mediocre?
Man, if you are playing this class to be uber... you are in the wrong house. TKA, Commando, etc are THAT way.

Now that TH has finally told DE's what they have instore for them (and it's about time too, DE's have suffered enough) I begin to wonder where our profession is headed. Now hear me out, then tell me what you think.
There are SO many ideas for various uses for Creature Handlers in the forms of non-combat pets, different types of uses for combat pets, different commands, mount uses and so on.
But two things that trouble me.
When/if the Droid Commander profession if implimented. Talks have pointed mostly to combat droids for DC's being more geared towards damage output and not tanking. So, here is a desire for less tanking, more DPS pets right out the window.
Now with DE's getting the much needed attention, utility modules are in the works. One being an entertainer module. A type of non-combat pet many CH's have proposed.
Where am I going with all of this? I am saying, that all these ideas we have generated will be ignored or overlooked because the devs have never been good at balance. It's either all or nothing with them usually.
So, I am saying that I believe that Creature Handlers are doomed to mediocracy because we will never get non-combat specific pets. And I am betting we will never get many of the ideas even responded to because it's either all or nothing with them. DE's will retain all non-combat functionalities with droids, meanwhile CH pets will continue to remain either a status symbol (if you can call it that) RPing pets, or mindless tanks.
You can't have everything. And I am not complaining about the fact that DE's are getting much needed attention. I am just worried that Creature Handlers are doomed to be nothing more than what we are. A support/collector/tanking profession and nothing more with little to no use to anyone else but ourselves...
