Thread: Hmm, how about a making pets 'Rescue'?

As you may or may not know, Rangers have a command called 'Rescue' that makes an aggressor stop shooting at their target and start shooting at the Ranger who issued the command. I was thinking pets should come with that command installed by default. Now ignoring all this "support profession" nonsense and the fact that CH is far far less than even a joke in PVP right now, the problem remains, that it's not hard for a PC to find out who the 'Master' of a pet is and then light their ass up and turn the pets into nothing more than a zoo display standing around doing nothing. So it would be nice if our pets were constantly sending a rescue command on their owner. Making anyone who shot at the owner, target a pet instead. That would solve two problems, not making it so PC couldn't just tear through the owner and since the first hit to the owner would incur some damage would make us able to join PVP reliably (taking us out of the support profession and into the combat profession as was stated initially) without having to make our pets so EXTREMELY powerful as to make it have to eradicate a target before they can fire on and kill the owner. I think it would be very good, any thoughts?

Changed the name of the thread, because the 1st response couldn't possibly be talking about PVP, I can't believe there is ANYONE left on this forum that thinks CH can be 'overpowering' in PVP.

Nice idea but it may be a little overpowering in that sense as pets can take a lot more damage than players and also it removes an element of risk when hunting.

This would be for PVP not NPC or MOB hunting, In fact it's unnecessary when hunting because if you sic your pets on an NPC or MOB they ALWAYS attack the pet, that's the whole 'Tank' thing. Players however are smart enough to know to attack a person, and that's where the problem lies, and right now... uhhh, and I assume you do know pets are FAR from... I can't even say powerful, so I'll say far from having power at all in PVP. So add decent (not crippling) power to them and make the owner harder to kill. I think that would work perfect.
