Thread: My Quest for a GPS
So another area track........Great Plains Stalker (Southwest 422m). I was just there, I think to myself. Anyway, back to my trusty barc and head to the new location. There he is, create my waypoint and start "working the lair". Two times I'm able to come back and find him and then he must have warped again.
Area track....................nothing. I drove around for another hour trying to find him again, only to be dissappointed again. So my search goes on.
This is exactly why I'm letting my account expire at the middle of next month. This among many other problems with this game.

1. It was a dream, only a dream. You obviously regard this as a nightmare.
2. You were not holding your mouth in the correct position while attempting to track the elusive creature.
3. The winds on Tatooine were blowing north to south instead of east to west at the time you were tracking. Everyone knows that the winds must be blowing east to west for all to be right in the world of SOE.
happend to me with a freinzied graul my friend found it i was 200 meter away my friends leaves i get there 5 seconds later an its an adult
or maybe that person was right the winds of tat were not in the right direction
could also be that no jedi had died as every one knows every time a jedi dies a CH gets his pet
Sorry you didn't find a GPS on your first day of searching.
I only spent months on it, milking ~50 spawns with no success. (pre-CU, that works out to approximately 200 individual adults, give or take a short spawn, with no babies)
So... good luck. Try again tomorrow and you'll probably tame 3. That's how it is in the CU world- no such thing as "rare", just "took more than a few tries".

Care to explain to me why I didn't find a baby in 2 months search post-CU, which works out to approximately 500-600 individual adults, if everything is so common now?
Just from taking your and my experience, I'd be inclined to say that before the CU there was no such thing as a rare, unlike now
*slightly ticked of by people relating how they had to walk 50 miles to school in their old days, through blizzards and hurricanes, uphill both ways*
And to reply to the OP's question: It also has happened to me several times, that as I approach a spawn (of anything, not only GPS in particular), it would despawn and be replaced by something else (GPS by a lair of gurrcats, for example). No idea what causes it though ... at other times lairs would stay the same even after logging for several hours.

Maybe they get sucked into space by the gravitational pull of the second moon of endor which might affect only GPS's...
Of course, its just a theory..

Don't get me wrong I really like this reply, but do you mind telling me what the winds on Tatooine have to do with finding a creature on Corellia. Or am I on the wrong planet, I could be. I did used to be blonde.
No, you're right. I think the poster confused it with the GSP (IE Greater Sludge Panther).
Let me know when you're on, and I'll try to come help you look for your GPS. I know as a ranger you can Area track, but I can at least help you cover ground.

Ummm....
Okay, I'll explain why:
Becausecreatures that did not spawn from lairs.... did not spawn babies! It was broken, bugged, not-working-as-intended. If you killed the first spawn, the spawn died and there were no further spawns (therefore no chance at a baby).
It was impossible for anyone to tame a GPS, Thune Grassland Guardian, Wild Dune Boar, or any other single-spawn creatureuntil that was fixed. So you basically wasted your time.
Whereas as soon as that *was* fixed, babies started spawning again. So yeah, some creatures may be slightly harder to get than others, but nowhere near the rediculous spawn rates pre-cu that made those "rares", rare.

First off, I have been playing this game for 15 months and CH was my first profession that I ever did. So I have been looking for a GPS for 15 months and not just one day. I have seen a total of 3 GPS in the wild. I was just wondering if anyone had any explaination of why the were "warping" away. Why does everyone assume that just because some writes a post asking for advice or asking a question that they are a noob or don't know what they are doing? This is the whole problem with this game. No wonder everyone is quiting or just doesn't want to post anymore. I know I'm sick of being flamed.
