Or is it?
This sceenshot was taken on Chimaera after about an hour of trying to spawn a baby... Every time I came back to the initial spawn spot a new GPS spawned...

I've done the same thing. Only one appears to really re-spawn though.... at least, for me. I could tell because only one would pop up as yellow and turn red....the others popped in as red...meaning they didnt respawn.

Exactly, only one spawned really new - the others never despawned...

I managed the same thing when trying to get my GPS.
I found that if there was a spawn nearby, the cat would aggro it, when i went the 500m and came back, the original cat was just licking the blood off it's paws, and then a new one would spawn.
This would go on as long as there was sufficient munchies in the area for the cat..
Didn't get that many tho!

Wow, nice collection
I had the same problem, but so far have only seen a maximum of three cats in one place.
I also noticed only the oldest one acted normally, all the newer ones had quite a few red exclamation marks over their head. (easy way to notice the oldest one: try to keep track of their health, if you come back and 2 are there, one of them has the same)
What seemed to help was driving through the additional cats, sometimes they just disappeared then.
No idea what causes it, I always drove away with the newest cat targeted until I lost target, usually 550m out ... still when I came back, it was still there, and a second one spawned new (first yellow, then red).
