Thread: PLEASE GIVE CH KD RECOVERY
im ch/ranger
and CH is supposed to be a combat prof, hence it should have kd recovery
ch/ranger is a great combo, i love it
i even pvp on my ch, but it sucks not having kd recovery i mean come on now guys you stated it is a combat prof

Ranger, CH, and Doctor have no intrinsic KD recovery abilities, among the elite combat professions.
Picking up novice marksman or novice brawler will give you KD recovery, even if you can't invest any SP in it beyond the initial 15.
Personally, I can't imagine playing CH nowadays without some combat skills of my own aside from the critters. Zanti, my BE/Chef, doesn't have any combat skills or levels aside from what scout40404 and CH novice give him (he's level 18) but doesn't venture out of town much nowadays, as BE pet crafting is so badly borked for the market he was specializing in (non-CH mounts) so he doesn't sample at all anymore.
I do not recall the devs saying all combat professions would get knockdown recovery. I have no clue where this comes from. Combat obviously dosent equal KD recovery as you stated not in ranger not in ch. Not in the scout three right there with no combat recovery all combat professions.
I think you have a serious choice to make ranger CH as I see it is just too lopsided to perform anyting but the most specific of roles. Here is the problem you take trapping instead of a line in ranged combat traps while good on critters are worthless on players. Camping while cool is totally devalued now completely. No wounding free call and no other innate camp bonuses makes for a very expensive aggro block in my oppinion. Your template has one fundamental design pop and run and drag it down with bleeding.
Your template is just poorly thought out and I am sure you took ranger to augment ch. The real problem though is these are contrary professions. A ranger should be stacked with a ranged profession. A CH should be stacked with a ranged profession. They are not conducive to one another. Your hamstringing yourself. You are useing a tank profession with a kiteing profession, and your going to be miserable at both.

i have more fun on my ch/ranger than any other, i have tons of friends i go hunting with, it just sucks in pvp, or the rogue npc that charge shots me
ranger / ch is the most fun i have had in a long long time, i have 2 full template jedi and i barely play them

No one should judge anyone else on their choice of play style in a game. What -Oliver- does or chooses to do to enjoy this game that we play makes his template perfect for him, which is all that matters. Just because that's not your preferred choice of template or play style doesn't mean you can tell someone else that theirchoiceis poor or that they're miserable at what they do. You may not think that template is great for your preferred method of play (and that's ok since you're entitled to that opinion), but that doesn't mean it isn't right for someone else or that they're wrong for enjoying the template they like.

I am going to go against the majority with this, but I don't think we should have KD Recovery.
The way I see it, CH is something special and unlike any other 'combat' profession out there. I would hate CH to become FOTM because it was getting more and more like other combat professions.
If I really want KD Recovery, I will free up points from somewhere else.
Personally, I would prefer to see bugs fixed before adding an extra skill in.
The point is all templates have downsides as a MBH I know I have a limitation and that is if i get jumped by three or four critters I get a damage multiplier placed against me. Poor crowd control in this instance the player has no KD recovery its just about a requisite for pvp now that being said he does have options outside of template to help with this situation.
1. Get knockdown resistent items for his character like armor attachments its a weak spot he needs to focus on addressing.
2. Get food that has a good defense modifier this helps alot.
3. He may want to look towards getting ranged defense over medic and be more reliant on stims both player and pet.
4. Be mobile his template affords him of this get a strong rifle and kite what he is fighting.
Profession downsides are important they prevent fotm.
