I have been trying to regain my mch title asap. I have been grinding out the low lvl mobs outside of Mos Entha. It is very simple, i tell the pet to attack, eye gouge, then it comes back to me, i heal with one bacta shot, then repeat. Ive made sure the bacta shot isnt in combat so it doesnt mess with my xp, but ive been having problems. Regardless of the level of the creature or what it is, half the time or more i will get 1 ch xp. This doesnt happen on any specific level, When it doesnt happen i get the normal amount of experience that i would expect. I do not help him fight at all. I am lvl 33, why would this be happening? Some people have suggested that its because xp is based on your lvl, the creatures lvl, and the lvl of my pet, Anyone know whats going on? im desperate for help.

The intermittent 1xp / full xp is a bug, although it's unclear (at least to me) whether theintended xp is the 1 xp (since you're fighting something less than 10 CL below you) or the normal xp (since your pet is doing all the work, so the xp calculation should be based on its CL).
While grinding up CH (starting at CL 80, and I transfered by swordsman skills into CH), I earned most of my xp by taming babies, and taking missions appropriate to my CL (for full xp). If you can group with your pet, that will make things easier since it'll have your CL for purposes of damage reduction. If you don't have the "group" command yet make doubly sure to hold aggro on yourself, and avoid anything with AoE attacks (especially when you're with a very low-level pet).

I just finished my Regrind to MCH. this is how it finished up.
Make sure you have a complete +25 from BE Clothing, this is the only way I made this work.
I would sometimes go on hunting groups but for the most part I would just get experiance by Taming babies. The trick to this is to maximize the number of abilities that you can teach to the tame. On average you get about 400 CH xp per tame and command trained. The Best Combination of skills would result in only 1270 Tames.

Although after completing about 2/3 of the grind I stumbled across the forum discussion about grouping with a low level character for pet xp grinding. But also saw that the CH would gain some xp in the process. I decided to give it a try... and was suprised with the results.
I would recommend working your way through the Taming tree and Up to Management 3, then kick off this process. You can have a fairly good BE pet (level 31) and should not require healing. I did this with a BERancor (Level 35) andhad no issues.
Just my 2 credits...

In order to get more than 1 XP, you need to kill mobs that con green or higher... Gray mobs will always award 1 XP. Go to Dant MO, get a grinding group like everyone else, and your XP will fly.

Since going Jedi with my main I needed to grind my alt to MCH/TKM as fast as I could. Fighting in a larger group is the best and fastest way to level hands down. Use a lv1 pet that is small, do not group ot, and let it get a hit at least once and every MOB. I mastered in a few weeks doing this from Novice.

After unlocking, I trained my new Alt up to MCH in 4 days of semi-casual grinding with a good group. Doesnt have to be very high level - just higher than me.
I used a CL4 hermit spider and trained all the way to MCH.
One other tip.. while in combat, do not use any weapon skills or heal. If you do, your xp gets divided between professions. So it's important that your group understands and supports your method of training since you will not be a damage-dealer.

I have been trying to do this, the only time i have been stepping in and using my doc skills to heal or buff my pet was inbetween fights, never when he was in combat. Even when i dont heal though, sometimes im getting 1xp, while the other half of the time im getting the expected amount of xp.
