1. This type ofinformation is under strict NDA. So even if he knew he couldn't tell you.

2. Given the devs current track record, dont hold your breath.

I read this on the In Live :

As promised in my recent Letter to the Community, I am back to answer some more of your questions about our upcoming expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan.

  1. Will there be a beta, and when/where will the sign-ups be?

We will be having a beta for the Trials of Obi-Wan. More information on signing up for beta will be coming soon, keep an eye on our web site - it will follow the same process as Rage of the Wookiees.

  2. Will the expansion be set up so it’s desirable to return after you’ve completed the quests?

Yes. There will be a lot of content that offers re-playability and with good reason, which I can't yet reveal - but you will want to come back and play through several of the quests and revisit many of the points of interest.

  3. Will we be getting tamable babies on Mustafar?

Yes, there will be tamable babies on Mustafar
    .

  4. Why would any loyal Imperial want to help Obi-Wan do anything?

Without getting into the details of the Obi-Wan quests, which I can't yet share, let me just say that Obi-Wan is concerned with something that not only impacts Rebels, but that could just as easily topple the entire Empire.

  5. Will the world on Mustafar be restrictive to "set paths/zones" ala EQ2/WoW like it is on Kashyyyk? Will it be open areas like the original Planets? Or a combination of both?

There will be some areas of the planet with impassable cliffs, but in general Mustafar is much more open than Kashyyyk and allows for a lot of exploration and questing.

  6. Does Mustafar have a space zone?

No, it does not. We wanted to focus our efforts on making a strong planetary adventure experience.

  7. If the game is set after Episode IV, why is the expansion based around Episode III?

Good question. Although Mustafar is featured prominently at the end of Episode III, the content we created for the Trials of Obi-Wan is most definitely occurring during the time period after Episode IV which is still consistent with Star Wars fiction. Obi-Wan appears in his Jedi spirit form, rather than as a live character and is motivated to return for some very specific reasons. You will notice that even some of the Mustafarian planet has evolved from where it was in the time period of the movie, for instance, the Mining Facility where Anakin and Obi-Wan fought is not in it's original state and is in fact significantly deteriorated. You’ll notice that some of the content does reference Old Republic technology, but this technology pre-dates even the Clone Wars and Episode III and is a recognized part of Star Wars canon. The Old Republic had been around for a very, very long time and has a continued presence throughout Star Wars mythology.

  8. Mustafar sounds neat, but why not an expansion based on Hoth?

Wow, another good question! I think it is safe to say that almost everyone would like to see a Hoth expansion, ourselves included, and it is certainly something that we have discussed. To deliver the kind of exciting Hoth experience that we would want to offer our players we would need to integrate several new technologies into the game that don't currently exist. This does not mean that we are not interested in doing something with Hoth, it just means that the planning and development timeframe is much longer and more involved. Furthermore, we believe that building on the excitement of Episode III by creating content that resonates to the movie is a great way to add more Star Wars style adventure to our game world while still staying true to our core fictional timeline. And, besides, it is a lot of fun!

Ofcoarse if you hated kashyssk odds are you will hate mustafar and remember all creatures are generic now. Is it really worth paying 25 bucks to get a new gosh golly gee skin. A skin everyone and his brother will have.

I do not intend to buy it my reasons are many but i can narrow it down to a few things.

1. The whole direction of mustafar seems to be quest oriented if you like linear gameplay good for you. I personally am not that way until they make an actual planet I will not invest in another expansion. I have more then enough themeparks with redundant loot to tide me over till the cows come home.

2. Once again the motif seems to be loot oriented nonsense just like jtl and rotw. I shouldnt have to buy an expansion just to get loot, and if mustafar loot turns out super uber then my response will be just to quit. Sadly it seems to be the plan I am still trying to find out if I can uninstall ROTW from my machine anyone know if this is possible? All its given me is an extra death penalty.

3. Seriously POIs are just about as hokey as you can get. What is this game filled with japanese tourists ah a digital repleca of a mud hut. You know what matters to me going to a dungeon or finding some wicked wild spawn and going to town. Without the dungeon being either a doom clone loot that key or worse built around chronic spawns that seek to just annoy the hell out of you rather then test actual skill or intellect. Seriously devs you want a good way to make dungeons. You need not rip it off WoW. Theres this old game that did it right in the eighties the legend of zelda. You enter a room look for secret passage ways blowdown walls move rocks to reveal secret passages, and in the process you kick open one chest to get a map one to get a compass one to get a weapon and at the very end you fight a boss monster. How hard would this be to do.

according to the house of commons chat chat on sratics the dev's anser is yes there will be tamables and this is further backed up by lucas arts website about the expansion which also says there will be new tamables on mustafar give there are 2 public admissions on the subject more than likely its not pat of the nda

just forget about the time line it nolonger exits her hasn't for some time. we're in a virtual star wars universe and it our time line not the movies. so its what we make of this universe ourselves. once this is realized then you'll start having fun
