Currently on Flurry I have Constructed the site of the Elysium Gate Zoo - headquarters of my new pet club, members are a wide range of creature handlers and non-CH with pets. I'd like to know what I'm I in store for and if any of these features of the pet club have any chance to work:
CH Hunts: The pet club will include oppertunities to form groups involving CH's, since we are on Dant we can even host hunting groups at the Mining Outpost for people who want to join a group with cool pets.
Taming Expeditions: Doing hunts with the intention of taming and training baby wild creatures, including non-CH lvl ones and CH lvl ones. Would be usefull for new CH's as it would give them the chance to get some good pets.
Pet Sales: An event where members of the pet club can sell live pets of all lvls and including mounted pets. Will give the CH's a chance to make money selling their animals like they always wanted to. Services also include training and mounting.
Pet Shows and Races: Some events would include races involving classes of different mounted pets, and pet shows where each contestant would try to create the best presentation of their pet.
Pet Catina: There will be a pet catina where pets are allowed, since some entertainers don't like their presence in their catinas.
Elysi STORM Calvery: Amoung members of my town and guild I plan on organizing a group of CH pvpers that would be their own group during pvp battles. Using shock tatics with their overwhelmingnumber of pets.
any feedback would be great

I think this is an excellent idea, Rimpala!
I for one would be very interested to hear how it goes, as well as how you set the club up, advertise, etc.
Keep us posted ... sounds great!
Good luck,
Ickle

The publish 19 bug is fixed, the other problems with CH have yet to be solved though. Nevertheless the Pet Club is growing rapidly now. The Visitor Center in Elyisum Gate, Dantoonie has it's main hall almost completed. This pet catina has a wonderfull motif of "bringing the outdoors indoors" complete with a waterfall, lots of trees and bushes, many of the landscape paintings found in the game, and a tiki bar
Next door to the visitor center I've placed the building that will be the headquarters for members of the club, now called The Herd. The Herd has several CH and non-CH members from STORM including myself, and more will be expect from other guilds I know and trust. The imp members will function as a pvp "calvery" and will act as a tatical front-line unit of STORM. All members will help through functions within the pet club and many hunts and taming expeditions will ensure.

I'm interested in knowing how this could/would work. Every CH is going to want to group with their pets to keep an eye out on their pets HAM, so I'm not sure how the grouping would work. But imagine the fun/chaos of all those pets. If a group of say 4 MCH's each got out their 3 narglatches, that's 12 pets attacking at once. You could just sit in the camp & relax while a whole heard of pets go to work. And with enough pets you wouldn't even need to get close to heal, just rein them in when they need a heal then send them back out knowing that there is still loads of pets attacking the target....
Maybe a organised team of MCH's could even be a force to be reckoned with in PvP?

I wonder how individual players would feel in PvP about suddenly facing a massed group of ranged attacks. Six or seven(or more) pets, all targeting the same player, then switching targets as directed. That might get very un-nervingfor some people.

Yeah, welll, all I can say to that is Creature Handling is an aspect of the game, and just another thing you would have to deal with when you pvp... The oposing faction might complain though... "We can't win casue you have too many darn animals attacking us!!!" It's ok they have too many Jedis attacking me lol
Anyhoo, July 6 2005
Pet Club seems to grow allong with the city's population, many new citizens have been psyched over the exciting profession that is the CH. The Shrine of the Herd is growing rapidly, only members can see what lies inside this mystical, pantheistic temple to the galaxies creatures. The outsiders would just have to envy

Ah yes, and to Sethna, if there is a problem with grouping pets... if there is a little room in the group we'll group the weakest level pets so they'll have the benefit of being on the group's combat level, and players would be able to watch the HAM bars of thesemore sensitive pets.
Hunting within the Pet Club will be shared amoung pve players as well, and yes may include rebs.
