Hope I understand your question right:
No, specials like e.g. "Frenzied Assault" aretransferable if you have learned them from the pet.

You mean if you tame a baby with frenzied rage as an innate you're asking if it should be using it on its own? I guess that depends- if you go to train it in the basics like "store" and "group" and you see frenzied assault listed there for you to train, you should give it a command for that ability and use it when you're fighting to have the pet use the ability. However, some of those specials are passive abilities meaning they're just that: passive... and youcannot train them a command to correspond to it.
Is frenzied assault the one that triggers passively when the pet gets down to almost no health as a "last ditch" kinda effort or am I thinking of something else? Anyway- check to see if it's an active, command trainable ability so you can make it use the ability or if it's passive.
