The "best pets" are the pets that you tailor to suit your needs and play style. If you're picky about looks, you want a pet that is aesthetically pleasing to you. If you're a low level looking for something to help tank for you, you're gonna want a pet with high health. If you're a higher level that is more interested in extra damage, you're more interested in a pet that has high damage over health stats. Then it's all about the abilities. Check the stickies at the top of this forum about the new pet specials. There are tons of special abilities that you can learn from babies that you tame that you can then teach to your pets. Some abilities give special enhancements towards health or health regen... some affect damage output, some give your pets more armor or specials like knockdown, stun, bleed, blind, etc. There are many many ways to customize your pets now. Basically, the best pet is one that you customize to fit your needs in-game best.
