Hi, before the ch revamp I took the profession up to 3/3/0/0

then I dropped it to continue working on bh and pistoleer (tho I found ch to be very fun, it just became a skill point issue)

I just came into a free copy of swg, and want to create a master ch to help out in pve, loot hunting and what not. But I haven't had any experience post revamp. I've heard ch became a lot harder to lvl up, almost doubling the time you need to invest in it. Any tips that'll help move it along quicker?

Use the lowest level pet on the highest level mob you can get by with. Depends on what combat skills you have.

The Geno caves are a good place to get quick XP and doing grouprancor missions with a good lvl 20ish BE pet also gets good numbers.

I recommend a nice Rock Beetle or a Quenker, something that has a ranged attack. Even though you can't command it to use the ranged, they usually do anyway.

While using the ranged attack, babies hit for their adult damage levels (at least it was this way, I haven't had a baby spitter in a while). This protects the kid from getting hurt and allows him to hit for his full potential.

Remember the old days witha Rock Beetle before everyone and their mother had one. They were good little guys.

Good luck.

Of late my pets have been using their ranged attacks on command. When I use themacro I have set up for ranged attack I get a message saying that ranged attack is now on and the pets sure seem to use it every time.

DaBudo2, I was referring to him leveling back up and not being able to teach that command until he gets up in the CH tree. However, I do agree, my pets tend to use range exclusively when over 10m away, and a lot of times when closer than that. I have used the command and it states that it is active, but I have not been able to get it to unactivate. It only shows the activated message over and over again. Oh well.
