Thread: Novice CH in need of desperate help
If you haven't already read the FAQ stickied above, I think you will get good advice there.
Training your newly trained pets in the various commands gets pretty good exp.
Using the lowest level pet you can against the highest level creature you can beat gets you the most exp. At some point, going on big group hunts where someone supplies a real tank, is a good opportunity for you to use your low level pets to get the most experience.
Also, try having a BE make you a low level pet with decent HAM and specials.
I am a novice CH myself (1 1 1 1) and can confirm that this is a tough profession to go up in. I went 0 1 1 1 first and this gave me 6 commands to train. Each command I trained gave me 100XP. Initially, tame, train, release works great - slow but ok.
I got myself a BE level 13 pet as well with high HAM. He has now grown up. I go quenker hunting in Dant - I damage the quenkers then send him in to finish them off. Low level pets give good XP when attacking higher level prey. This seems like a good strategy for getting to 2 2 2 2 but to go higher, I may need to go group hunting for rancors or something. Hope this helps.
