since the 3k health bars are a product of how many sp you have invested in combat professions, is ch now considered a combat prof?

if so, does that mean ch xp will be convertable to force combat related xp now?

if we don't count as a combat prof for health bar, then ch is a dead professoin

It better count...dont the Docs count in this? If they do...and we dont....it will truly be a sad day

The testing at this point does not include the high end professions. And I am going to guess that none got to CH yet with the n00b grind. I know I didnt. Hopefully it will be answered soon...mayber Vert knows?

Not sure if any of the testers got to a novice CH ability as of yet. I know I am not even scratching the surface of scout...so I am hoping to see the Blue Frogs get the higher end professions soon to find out the answer.

There is some cool stuff coming for all the professions...Even CH has some nice things in there that you cant see by looking at the skill sheet (I am sure it will be shared soon.)

I have very mixed feelings about weather or not CHshould count for CL/Health but I'm reserving judgment untill I test it myself. I think it really comes down to this. Would you rather have 2k health and hit for 150 or 3K health and hit for 100? In a perfect system since CH 100% stacks with another combat prof this would be the case and would be 100% balanced however nothing on this earth is perfect (except for Jessica Alba) so I'll have to wait and see.

Cosidering that Creature Handler is included in their new CU diagram... I would assume that CH is considered a Combat Profession and would receive the same bonuses to health as the other combat professions.

Dont assume anything my friend. Weather or not we get those bonuses depends on how much damage pets do in combat now. If we do the same damage as another combat profession then we would be to unbalancing if we had the health bonus, however if we dont get a boost in damage then we would not be unbalanced at all.

Everything I have seen in the CU thus far leads me to belive that we will not get the health/CL bonus. Heres why.......

1. Wild creatures got a huge damage bonus.

2. We got an increase in CL which I strongly belive is to allow our max CL in grouped pets to make up for the lack of a CL bonus in the skill tree.

3. Damage is now almost completely based on the difference inCL of 2 opponents.

4. Grouping increases the CL of all group members

5. Grouping with petshas always increased group CL on live (Even though it never played a factor in damage)

6. Having pets CL not be affected by grouping would be the worst thing that could posibly happen to usin this system. (A master fencer is like CL45 or higher so several multi combat mastery profession characters grouped would give each group membera CL of well over 100 giving them a HUGE advantage over our pets)

7. The devs are not stupid they know that if you have 2 players with the same Health but different DPS face each other the guy with the higher DPS will win every time.

8. CH could in theory double your DPS.

Consider all the factors before saying not getting the health/CL bonus is a bad thing. It might not be a good thing, but it might not be a bad thing either. As I said beforein a perfect system it would be a balanced thing.

What you are forgetting is that all the combat profs have a much more direct impact on each other so now ALL the other profs you have add directly to your combat effectiveness... so I would say CH damn well better give us the health boost.

No only do all the specials cross over giving you more damage and options, but all the profs give general mods for thier type (ranged/melee). For a direct example a Carbineer CH, even with everything else thrown into BH would have MDef 100, RDef 139, total carbine speed 91, total accuracy 203. Compare this to a stacked ranged build without CH and you have MDef 200, RDef 225, speed 120, accuracy 225. Considering we currently don't know what the caps are that could be a very big difference. Even if the normal caps are in place that much more speed and accuracy give you a very large offensive boost even not taking specials into account.

So, not only do they get a very large boost in killing power but they also recieve the Health bonus. ...the pets would have to be almost overpoweringly strong to make up for that gap if CH does not recieve the health bonus.

No profession still affects another one quite like CH. The ability to have 2 or moreweapons out at a time makes us a very interesting class to balance. As I said before im reserving judgement untill I test it myself. I am however trying to prepare everyone just in case it does not give the bonuses of other combat classes.

The mods are a good point but untill we can test elite professions we need to reserve judgment.

They may very well be "overpoweringly strong" but then again they may not be. Testing needs to be done before all of us start preaching that its the end of the world for the CH profession.

I agree that we really need to test before we decide on this one. Testing it so close it is almost not worth it to speculate and get worked up over something that may or may not happen. Personally, I've always made it my goal as a CH to never get hit by something I was attacking. I feel like that is an important part of being CH, my pets are the ones involved in the fight, I'm just directing traffic (Ok, well I'm rifleman too, but I'm still far away). Either way, I'm sure we'll all adapt, and from what it sounds like people seem pretty optimistic so I don't think we'll compeltely get the shaft.

The only way i can see us not getting a health boost is if the power of pets is such that our dmg out put
would compinsate for the lower health, much in the way that in other games, those that have powerful attacks suffer a loss in another area such as lighter armor or less health.
I don't know either way as of yet but in either case I would be ok as long as I'm not the easiest person to kill in combat and my dmg out put is = to everyone else in the gorup, then I'll have to riot or something
