Do they HAVE to be verbal? Or can I train my animals to react to /point or a /snapfingers emote?

Just thought it would be kind of neat to have /point as an attack command, or /beckon or /whistle as a follow command. To be able to control pets with gestures would at least make master/pet interactions a little more immersive.

Verbal. Though once you train them in the command you can use a macro to set them off.

/tellpet Attack;
/point;

you can create your own / commands using aliases

if im not mistaken you can also bind aliases to keystrokes using the key layout editor.

Just make sure you use /pointat. If you have Marksman skills, using /point willmake you attack the target(since it's short for /pointblanksingle1). You probably don't want to open fire on that Nightsister before your pet has a chance to respond.

Yes. Important safety tip.

Ha, found that out the hard waybefore I saw the post, but its a good thing I'm a TKA. But I tried it out, works well, thanks guys.

/snapfingers; /blow(bubbles)

/pointat;

/tellpet attack

/ruffle;

/tellpet store

blah blah. Only drawback I have found is that the pet has to be targeted for the some emotes to work properly.

Like Trayson said, once you've trained them, you can create a macro that includes /tellpet for the actual command and also include emotes in the macro. I put together a rather elaborate macro to mount my dewback, for example, and some rather nifty attack macros involving pointing and mood changes.

The macro system in SWG allows for a lot of fun innovation; once you know the basic structure, your imagination is the limit.
