Thread: No fixes for CH in Combat rebalance?
That's because they need to see how the other combat professions stack up against us.
They changed us in December when they changed all the Creatures.... presumably they were going to do the rest of the combant balance soon after.... but then got side tracked with "other things".
I think that is the only way to read it.
I'm not sure how that translates out for us. On the one hand, we have an advantage of being used to our nerfedness. On the other, we're not going to change much, so WYSIWYG. PvP should be way better and even though PvE won't change, our value will be more comparable to other classes.
Basically, we were already ballanced when the devs swung the nerf bats at the critters in pub 5.
Everyone else is going to be readjusted to the "mathematical baseline" that we've been at for nearly five months now.

I believe after the combat balance, armor will be far less effective than it is now, buffs and combat medicines far farless powerfull, classes will do less damage, etc, etc. Remeber the CH class has not been altered that much (Except for 3 rancors in the beginning and medium armor) , everything else has been brought up rendering this class more and more useless with each patch.
I totally agree, we had our 2 graul maulers and that was good, but in reality, 2 BE pets are just as good if not better than the 2 graul maulers.
The only difference (which is huge) is the popularity of buffs and armor now. it used to be where i didnt even know what doc buffs were and then doc buffs were around a little bit, but very few of the players used them. Now 90% of the player base uses them while they hunt (a totally made up estimate) But i have 2 charactors, one is a tka med, the other is a pistoleer CH. the Ch never uses buffs, thetka always does. the tka is way better than the CH. and i am a wookiee CH and i think of CH as my armor. but it doesnt matter when there is 90% armor. So the only thing that does matter is damage output. (i promise you that a chef is not muchworse than a tka in 90% armor) Thus riflemen is a powerful profession and so is swordsman and tka, because they have huge damage outputs. fencer is also apopular pvp profession because of stun.
why would Ch help me in 90% armor??? it doesnt. the extra damage doesnt help usually. in pvp creatures are distractions and nothing more. (thats why i use a kimogila, to really lag my opponant while i have a fast computer)
If they nerf armor so that there is no armor that is the "super armor" that composit is. then we may have a chance. if the highest player armor resists ends up being 50-60% then we would be useful as tanks again. but even as my tka, i use 73% ubease and i dont ever die against nightsisters. i can tank elders until my armor gets totally disinigrated or i run out of stim B's.
i beleive that the only things that make CH underpowered are buffs and armor, and if the devs limit buffs to 2x original stats (like dancer/musician buffs) and 50-60% personal armor is the the maximum limit. then CHs will be back to being useful
nice reply Caitlynn,
but i think 60% armor is still too high, dont forget about the defensive skills that combat classes get, if you read the TKA forums you will see that many of them fightwithout any armor at all, this is due to the high defensive skills they have once they reach master, and it does not only apply to TKA but to many of the other combat proffesions also. with that kind of defense you can dodge alot of attacks (there is also counterattack, block, and evade).

You know what as a MCH i am revolting enough right now. How do I know? Cause no one wants to group with me. So I must be plenty revolting already.
Besides I don't need any more reasons to revolt. 6 freaking months of being the laughing stock of SWG is plenty more than enough thank you,.
