How many boxes do I need to be able to call out a level 50 pet? Just wondering.

i could only do it at 4/4/3/4 and even then i didnt bother because i was so exited about just grinding empathy 4

Correct two level 4 and two level 3 is what you need. 3434 is nice because you can mount animals and have the max datapad space short of master. Then again 4433 is nice because you can tame meaner pets.

I can call my level 50 pets with 4,4,1,4... also gets me trick 1, train mount, and costs fewer SPs.
